Day 2: Pyramids of Giza & The Egyptian Museum

Pyramids of Giza - Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, enjoy your Cairo Day Tour by visiting Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx. Start your tour by the Great Pyramid of Cheops (2551-2528 BC), is built of an estimated 2.5 million blocks, rising to 137m. Then move to Panorama area, enjoy fabulous photos for the three Pyramids, next move to the Sphinx, visit the Valley Temple, Enjoy Lunch at local restaurant in Cairo, continue your tour by visiting the Egyptian museum, it is one of the most famous museums in the world. Back to hotel, Overnight Cairo| Meals: breakfast, Lunch.

Fly Cairo to Aswan - Embark Nile Cruise

Temple of Philae - Upon your arrival at Aswan airport. You will be met by Journey To Egypt tour guide [At EXIT DOOR, holding a sign with your name] Enjoy visiting the world famous High Dam, The awesome Philae temple, which is devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor, Then transfer to embark your Nile River Cruise before Lunch. Optional Abu Simbel Journey - Cruising the Nile

Temple of Kom Ombo - Discover Abu Simbel, the commanding twin temples of Ramses II and his wife, Queen Nefertari. The former’s façade is dominated by four 70-foot-tall statues of the pharaoh. Perhaps even more impressive, this entire site was disassembled and moved here to save it from the floodwaters caused by the Aswan High Dam.

Cruise to Kom Ombo. Disembark at Kom Ombo (hill of gold) to visit the Greco- Roman temple dedicated to Haroeris (the sun god) and Sobek (the crocodile god), whom some ancient Egyptians considered the creator of the world. View the mummified remains of several crocodiles that once basked along the ancient Nile shore, just as their descendants do today. Back on board, Cruise to Edfu| Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Temple Of Horus- Cruising the Nile

Luxor Temple - Today, view the Temple of Horus, falcon-headed god of the sky. Built in 230 BC by Ptolemy III, this amazingly well-preserved and colorful structure reveals what temple worship in ancient Egypt was like. Back on board, Cruise to Luxor.

Arrive in Luxor, journey to the east bank of the Nile, the Temple of Karnak, where generations of pharaohs wished to record their names. Walk through the Great Hypostyle Hall, strolling among its expertly aligned columns, which soar to 80 feet high. Continue to the striking Temple of Luxor. View the three large statues of Ramses II along the front of the temple pylons; the Courtyard of Ramses II; and the Colonnade of Amenhotep III, with its 50-foot-high columns. Walk in their shadows as visitors have done since antiquity and ponder the astonishing feats of engineering it took to create them| Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Disembarkation - West Bank Tours - Fly back Cairo

Valley of the Kings - This morning, explore the west bank of the Nile River and the Necropolis of Thebes, and view the Colossi of Memnon. Next, arrive at the architecturally stunning Temple of Hatshepsut, ancient Egypt’s first female pharaoh and regarded today as one of its most successful. Continue to the Valley of the Kings, burial ground of the pharaohs and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For a period of 500 years beginning in the 16th century BC, tombs were built along this valley for pharaohs and nobles, including that of “the boy king,” Tutankhamun. Enter the tomb of Tutankhamun (extra ticket) - found in 1922 by British archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter- to discover the secrets of this storied chamber.

Transfer to the Luxor airport for flight to Cairo. Upon arrival you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Caior – Overnight Cairo| Meals: Breakfast.

Excellent tour company and trip - I planned this family trip to Egypt last August and wondered if travel to Egypt was still safe given the events in Gaza. After research I decided that Egypt is still a safe place to travel in and my trip there confirmed it. My family and I felt 100% safe at all times during our trip and Journey to Egypt provided 5* service at all times. I can't imagine making this trip without them. All of my pre-trip communication was answered promptly and every detail taken care of professionally. We were greeted at the airport as promised and Journey to Egypt's wonderful staff took care of us, our bags, transportation and sightseeing throughout our trip. Our guides were very knowledgeable and accommodated all of our requests regarding additional sights we wanted to visits, start times and shopping stops. They provided us with cold water for every excursion and we traveled in a new, clean, comfortable van with excellent drivers. The Nile cruise boat was very clean and comfortable and the Cairo hotel overlooked the pyramids witha beautiful view from our balcony and was 5*.i highly recommend booking your Egypt trip with Journey to Egypt.

Great family journey in Egypt - We booked our trip with Journey to Egypt after a friend had reccomended it to me; Total of 12 days in Egypt, from Cairo to Aswan, Abu Simbel, 3 nights on the boat, Luxor, to finish with a relaxing time in Hurghada. Daddy with his 2 favorite travellers (11 and 13) First, the logistic was perfect. From arrival in Cairo, every transfer from one location in private mini-van, side activities like Hot air Balloon, helping us finding local restaurants, helping us negotiate in the souks, the team at Journey to Egypt is really going the extra mile to make it a memorable trip. They stay connected through Watsapp daily to make sure everything is perfect. But what really made this trip exceptional- and it really was - were the 2 guides that helped us navigating through the sites, temples, telling us the history in a perfect English. Kudos to John that made our visits around Aswan, Abu Simbel and Luxor a great adventure. Answering our hundreds of questions, he was of great company and I highly recommend him! We learned so much!! And visiting Cairo and the pyramids would not have been the same without without our guide Mayer. His energy, his smile, his enthusiasm made visiting these wonders of the world an unforgettable experience. Thanks to the whole team at Journey to Egypt. Myself and my kids cannot be happier about these amazing vacations. John and Mayer, you will remain part of our memories when remembering all the great places you made us discover

Nine Days in Egypt Trip and Nile Cruise - Journey to Egypt organised our 9 day trip to Egypt beautifully. They organised our visas, hotels, internal airfares and Nile Cruise. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly I cannot sing their praises highly enough. 10 out of 10 from us.

Temples and Tombs in comfort and confidence. - The organisation was without fault. Always on time but flexible for our needs. Our Guide John has studied Ancient Egyptian, and there was no question he could not answer. He was very attentive and did his best to help avoid the crowds by explaining the key highlights before going into the temples and then taking us to the popular areas before they got busy. He went the extra mile making sure we had plenty of drinks and snacks and arranged WIFi for us when it wasn't available on the boat. The Temples are obviously spectacular and I don't think there was anything overlooked on the itinerary. The cars were immaculate, and the cruise was comfortable with good food. We felt safe the whole time especially with the way we were looked after. The amount of European and Asian tourists in Egypt says it's business as usual for visiting the Nile Temples and Cairo Pyramids.

Absolute Perfection from Beginning to End! VIP treatment at real people prices!!! - I cannot recommend Journey to Egypt more highly. From start to finish, it was the most high interest, low stress vacation of my life. There are not enough adjectives to describe this company and the INCREDIBLE service they provided! From the moment we stepped off the plane in Cairo, we never had to worry about a thing. A guide picked us up at the airport, quickly got us through customs and into a private car. (Thanks, Mohamed!) We were put up for 3 nights in Cairo at a lovely Hilton in the best part of town in a room with BALCONY ON THE NILE!!! Every morning, a private van picked us up (Moufasa rocks!) and a private guide showed us around. Our guide, Abu, was passionate, learned, and incredibly kind. He did thoughtful things like pick up yummy falafels for us and haggle on our behalf. We were blown away by our experience, by the professionalism of everyone at Journey to Egypt. After 3 days in Cairo, we were put on a plane to Luxor. There, we were picked up by our next private guide, John. Amazingly, John was just as passionate, learned, and kind as Abu! Journey to Egypt actually booked him a room on our 4-day cruise down the Nile, so that we could get private tours of Luxor, Abu Simple, and Aswan. Even though he was on the boat with us, he was never intrusive. In fact, both guides were excellent at finding just the right balance between giving us the help we needed along with the privacy we craved. Let's face it, when you're going to a very foreign culture where you don't know the language and you need to see a lot of stuff, tours are sometimes a necessary evil. I almost booked Gate 1 for Egypt, but I changed my mind when I saw reviews for Journey to Egypt. What Journey to Egypt offers is all the perks of a tour (transportation, guides, translations) with none of the annoying stuff (other tourists!). What's more, Journey to Egypt went out of their way to make sure we had every little thing we needed--from sunscreen to Starbucks! I CANNOT RECOMMEND JOURNEY TO EGYPT & ABU & JOHN MORE HIGHLY! Off the charts EXCELLENCE!

Look no further - this is the company you want to book!! - Journey to Egypt was fantastic - I seriously cannot recommend this company enough! Before the tour even started, Osama was great at keeping in touch, answering emails promptly and providing clear information. He even emailed me during the tour to make sure that everything was as it should be. The guides we had were incredible - Mazen in Cairo and Tamer in Aswan and Luxor. They were informative, knowledgeable, and friendly and they were attentive to our needs and preferences. With both, they were willing to give us some flexibility in our schedule to spend more or less time at certain parts of our tour. Tamer was especially wonderful - when we parted ways at the end of the tour he felt as though he were a friend, more so than a guide. The accommodations were great, the cars we drove around in were clean and safe, and the itinerary is well-planned: you are able to see the sights without feeling overwhelmed.

Trip to Egypt - My experience in Egypt was amazing. I didn’t know whether I should make the trip by Myself or I should do it with a company, so I decided to make my trip with Journey to Egypt, and I had a great experience with this company. All of the staff were so nice and the tours guides were knowledgeable. They took me to many places, and they gave me interesting explanations. If you are planing to go for a trip Egypt is a really good option as well as this company.

THE BEST TRIP TO EGYPT - It was a very nice trip and experience. Tour guide Marcos was very polite. He explained in details every single aspect of the egyptian culture. Trip to Alexandria was fantastic. We ate in a restaurant where many egyptians eat just normal traditional food. It was amazing. Highly recommended Journey to Egypt as your trusted friendly company to come to this extraordinary country EGYPT. No worried they will arrange everything you need just get a plane ticket and dont think it twice! Hurryyyy

Egypt, most amazing trip ever! - Journey to Egypt surpassed all of our expectations and we enjoyed our trip more than we could've imagined. They were incredibly communicative at all times, helpful whenever we had questions, and welcoming anywhere we went. We could tell they genuinely cared about making our trip excellent. We booked the Cairo day tour, pyramids tour, and Aswan to Luxor cruise, and each was incredible. Each tour guide that showed us this beautiful country taught us so much and showed us parts of their cities that we wouldn't have found ourselves. Osama, our guides in Cairo Alfred and Rena, and our guide for the Nile river Abanoub made our trip seamless, easy, and enjoyable. We are absolutely going to be telling all of our friends to travel to Egypt and will be recommending booking through journey to Egypt, as they are incredible at sharing the history and sights of their country.
