Refreshing visit to Cataratas Llanos de Cortez - Jorge was a polite and friendly guide. We had a great time at the waterfalls and a delicious Casado lunch in Liberia. I appreciate that we stopped at the grocery store so we could pick up a few things we needed,

The only driver and resource you need is Rafael. Took amazing care of our family. He does it all. Pura Vida - Amazing service. Doesn’t know how not to make your trip better. Picked us up from airport and all around the country and every excursion was worth every penny.

Nice Waterfall But Popular - Beautiful and refreshing waterfall. Be aware: locals will try to redirect you to their own parking lot where you will have no choice but to accept their guide service. We fell for it and passed right by the official parking spot. As it turns out, our local guide who inserted himself into the trip was a great guy who actually gave us some great information. If I had not been tricked into his service, I would have even appreciated him more. This is not a knock on the locals--I was the one who passed right by the big sign that said official parking spot and followed the instructions of the guy sitting at the corner of the road. The waterfalls themselves and scenery were beautiful. This is a popular spot pretty much right off the road so don't expect to have it for yourself.

Visit on a weekday - The weekend is not the time to stop for a visit. We drove by on Sunday so figured we stop by. It was very crowded, water was stirred up. It is a walk down uneven stairs (cement or gravel) to get to the falls. There is a hand railing if needed. There are nice new changing rooms, shower, and bathrooms available.
