Very educational tour - Very interesting tour. It's not a huge operation and provides an enormous amount of product that is labor intensive and quite a long process--thus the high cost. Surprised to learn the farm ships their product to Washington State for canning. Highly recommend for the family with older children since it's pretty educational. Did not partake in the food truck, but it did look ono!

Abalone Tour: An Absolute Experience - Carlos did a wonderful job of educating our group about the process of raising the abalone to the age of maturity to being harvested. There is a real science to the process. At the end of the tour, there is a taste test of the abalone and you get to keep the beautiful shell. There is a food truck on the property that serves delicious/unique abalone poke and sushi dishes. We highly recommend this tour as it was one of our favorite tours/activities on the island.

Learn something new! - This was a very interesting experience. We knew essentially nothing about abalone, how it is raised, how it tastes and we learned a lot! Highly recommend this experience for anyone who likes to learn new things. Great for kids too.

Abalone That Doesn't Require Pounding - Our guide, Diana, was friendly and informative. We felt very special as we received all her attention on a private tour (because no one else came to the earliest session). All our questions were answered (we learned a lot about these creatures) and we had extra time to enjoy some bites of seaweed and the abalone samples. A great start to our day!

Great experience! - We had a great time and learned a lot. It was really fun trying so many superfoods at a time! They show more than they advertise for which is really cool! Including the tasting! I would definitely recommend!

Guy Fieri did this tour... - Saw this on the Food Network when Guy Fieri & family visited - and with the very close proximity to the airport (as in the next exit down) it seemed like a great way to kick-off my Big Island holiday. Arriving early there's a food truck directly in front serving tasty abalone-based concoctions (pictured was abalone poke) - after that Carlos conducted our tour that lasted a bit over an hour... very informative, got to handle abalone of various sizes along with an assortment of other sea life - then concluded the tour with a tasting. Very glad I went!
