Additional Information

Local Hosts transform travelers into natives, and locals into explorers.

We recognise that during an excursion, it’s essential to take breaks for reenergising snacks and beverages, which is why we’ve incorporated them into all our tours. Participate with us for a unique adventure in intimate groups and less-explored scenic locations.

For a back-to-roots touring experience, we provide a synopsis of our contemporary history and our much older, golden heritage. Beginning from University Square - arguably the city’s preferred rendezvous point, we traverse Calea Victoriei where aristocracy, tradesmen, communist dignitaries, and eventually modern capitalists vied for prominence in the city’s eldest pathway, in their respective time periods. We then delve into the Old Town through a concealed passage, admiring petite, picturesque medieval churches and the most recent, chic bourgeois architectural marvels. You’ll also gain an understanding of the numerous debates surrounding the House of the People. We conclude the tour at a large traditional establishment with local ale and nibbles.

Location
Piața 21 Decembrie 1989
University Square, next to the water fountain

TVR public TV station - This a very interesting tour. Our guide Mircea took us to the Romanian TV station which broadcasted already in the communist time. They were live on air 24hrs during the revolution in 1989, for several days, with little live breaks only to recover some machines that ran hot. Historical place. Cool tour, cool guide. Highly, recommended!

Mircea was amazing! - The guide, Mircea, really went above and beyond to make sure I had a great afternoon in Bucharest. He was very knowledgeable and gave me an excellent insight into life in Bucharest. He even made sure I got to my hotel safely at the end of the afternoon, as well as send me a follow up email with YouTube clips of things we had discussed. He really did a great job and I look forward to his tours when I, hopefully, return to Romania.

So fun! - I was in Bucharest on business and only had a little bit of time to visit. I picked the right tour! This was the perfect balance of sightseeing, history, culture and architecture. I had so much fun with Mircea. I could have listened to his stories the whole day! It also helped that immediately upon meeting, he gave me a really yummy local snack. This is tour perfection! Thank you Mircea!

Non rien de rien, non, je ne regrette rien :) - A day to remember! I had this free after noon in Bucharest but conditions were pretty much all day with fairly severe localised flooding. However, in one sense it was a good call; what else could I have done on an extremely wet afternoon in Bucharest? My only other option would have been to sit in the hotel room all day. On a day of adversity such as this there is the opportunity for host to show their quality. We had torrential rain all afternoon but had a fabulous time. Mircea my host was top notch, informative, interesting and willing to go the extra mile. What was also good was that this was actually a private tour, being the only one that afternoon and the tour was supposed to last aprox.3 hrs but lasted 7.5 hrs, largely because we had numerous stops to dry off in bars/cafes/restaurants and you get a real feel for the city away from the tourist spots, discovering a completely new and surprising Bucharest. All in all I couldn't praise the experience and the host enough.

Excellent tour - It was a great tour! Mircea is very enthusiastic guide, he showed undiscovered parts of Bucharest, we managed to have a coffee at the Parliament building, and in the end of the tour we tried the local food as well. Meanwhile he shared different stories about the local people, communist history and historical facts. One of the best tours I ever had, definitely recommend!
