38 Rue Barbès - A casual and easy-going tasting session and educational experience featuring some of the finest wine and culinary creators from the Languedoc and Roussillon regions. While seated comfortably at the tasting table, you’ll learn the art of wine appreciation and the techniques for tasting like an expert; how to pair wines with a variety of local dishes; identify the principal tastes and scents in wine, and uncover what sets the Languedoc apart as one of today’s most thrilling wine-producing areas. The journey through the history of viticulture spans from the Roman era to modern times, touching upon significant subjects such as organic and biodynamic winemaking, as well as the impact of terroir on the taste of wine. By sampling some of the region’s signature varietal wines and top Languedoc blends, we’ll explore the unique qualities of the Languedoc. The wines sampled will vary in price from 15€ to 50€, and you’ll get to taste 6 distinct wines paired with local cheeses, cured meats, tapas, olives, and organic bread drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This event, perfect as an evening or midday activity, is so substantial that you won’t require a meal afterwards!
These tastings are available in English, French, or Spanish.

- Homemade hummus with lemon zest
- Cheese board with four to five local cheeses - Seasonal cheese supplied from Fromageries Bousquet.
- Bread, Olive oil and Balsamic vinegar for dipping. - Selection of freshly baked local organic bread, both wheat, rye bread sourdough and wholegrain.
Additional Information
The person conducting your tour is a renowned connoisseur of wine and a seasoned wine tour guide with three decades of experience. They boast a broad understanding of global winemaking practices. The tasting occurs in our cozy wine cellar, situated in the core of Carcassonne’s historic town, and aims to be engaging and casual.
For private bookings, the event requires at least 4 attendees but can accommodate as many as 12. It makes an ideal outing for a circle of friends.

Highly recommended wine tasting in Carcassonne - Alex shared his deep passion and knowledge of fine wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our time learning about various wines from the region, The wine discovery experience included a table laden with cheeses, meats, etc.. The wine tasting experience included sparking wine, white wines, rose, and red wines. This is an excellent opportunity to really discover wines from vineyards in the Carcassonne region. No waiting time and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

A must do in Carcassonne - Absolutely brilliant. Alex is so knowledgeable. Amazing insight into the Languedoc Region and its wines. Food was great too. A must do in Carcassonne in my opinion.

A wonderful afternoon of wine tasting in the company of an excellent host. - A great opportunity to sample the wines from the vineyards of Languedoc and Roussillon. It was a wine region that we were not particularly familiar but after a very instructive and highly enjoyable afternoon wine tasting session with Alex we came away from his shop knowing a lot more about the local wine than we did when we first entered and eager to try more back home. The wines we sampled ranged from good to excellent, and were accompanied by a wonderful range of bread, cheese and cold meat. Time and money well spent!

Excellent way to spend an evening!! - We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting experience with Alex. He was extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the many different local wines around the Carcassonne area. It was very informal and the breads, cheeses and charcuterie were first class. We would definitely recommend a visit. Thanks Alex!!

Excellent wine tasting afternoon - Thoroughly enjoyed wine tasting with Alex at Vins & Vinos in Carcassonne. Alex made the wine tasting both informative and fun. The selection of breads, cheeses, charcuterie and homemade hummus was excellent! The wines were great, unfortunately only had enough spare baggage allowance for the flight home to allow for one bottle!! Definitely would recommend.

Get to know your wines - We enjoyed our visit to Vins & Vinos in Carcassonne. Alex was very knowledgable about the wines from the Languedoc region and we enjoyed learning how to properly “taste” 8 different wines. (sparkling, White & Red). The wines were complimented by delicious Breads, Cheese's, cold meats etc.

THE BEST WINE TASTING EVER - Absolutely fabulous experience. We were in the area for a wedding and decided to do a bit of exploring as we headed back to Barcelona. Alex was a delightful host and the wines he chose to share were unique and delicious. The local bread and cheeses were stellar accompaniments. The details about local wineries as well as the history and geological facets were helpful and fascinating. A definite MUST DO while in the Carcassonne area

Wine tasting experience - We had a wonderful afternoon wine tasting at vins & vinos.Our host Alex was wonderfully informative with a wide variety of wines accompanied by cheeses, bread and nibbles. I would definitely recommend that you try the tasting experience for yourselves.
