Relaxing and lots of photo opps - Minitrek was a great relaxing excursion! The tour hosts were great (thanks to Jorje our driver and Jorjelina our guide). The team at Hielo were very friendly, they are the only company that actually hosts the tour. Many thanks to our guides Sebastian and Miguel who were very informative, kept us safe on the ice. The trek itself was much easier than expected, not very difficult, with some guard rails to assist along the way. Lots of photo opportunities. Whiskey at the end was a great finishing touch.

Beautiful and impactful - An incredible and surreal experience. It gives you the dimension of what Perito Moreno is! The tip is to book the tour in advance (2 months) to be sure. Hiking boots, gloves and a windproof jacket are essential items. Walk of medium difficulty and at the end we toast the experience with whiskey and ice from the glacier! Amazing!

Fun with caring guides - This was the most perfect day I could wish for. The drive to the meeting point was part of the experience and I got to experience all seasons in only one hour, so be prepared for anything. The guides were very attentive and careful with their explanations while also being fun. They separated us by language but made sure every group had about 18 persons with two guides. Some of the guests were wearing shoes that could get wet and I would really recommend everyone to wear hiking boots and proper clothing. The ice experience and wearing crampons was enjoyable and not too tiring, go for it! The views and the feeling of walking on ice are a great memory. Take lots of pics!

A must see in Argentine Patagonia - The Experience that you must live yes or yes in El Calafate. It is carried out by the company Hielo y Aventura, with which we also went years ago. Book in advance (weeks) because it is likely that there will be no space if you do so when you arrive. I did it on their website and although in principle there was no one for Saturday (the day we could since the next day we returned to Buenos Aires) I called by phone and got 2 places that I reserved and paid via credit card in installments! (I'm still paying ha!) It's expensive for Nationals (too bad, it's a Wonder that all Argentinians should be able to enjoy this way) Impeccable, transfer from hotel, boat that crosses Lake Argentino, hike with equipment (crampons, helmet) They put walkways for very steep places and always Guides More details with price in video my YouTube channel: mundoarjo. After trekking on the Glacier that lasts more than 1 hour (plus 1 hour walk round trip along the shore) we cross by boat and bus to the Footbridges sector (ideal photo of some ice detachment (see video) if you have patience and luck in the 40' that they stay before returning). Bring food (Don't buy a sandwich in Calafate! Buy cold cuts plus bread, for the price of 1 we made 6!!!, you rest when you descend from the glacier, there is a shelter where you can leave backpacks, they invite you to have coffee. Excellent walk!

Indescribable! - The tour is impactful! Walking on a glacier is an indescribable feeling! People over 65 are not allowed. You have to be physically prepared to venture out, because going up and down the glacier with those hooks on your boots is not easy. Take water! At the end of the tour they give you whiskey with glacier stones. Very cool! We managed to book the tour at the Tolkeyn agency in Ushuaia 2 days in advance.

Monopoly, expensive prices, discriminate against the elderly - We went with my family and they didn't let my parents go on the excursions or sign a waiver because of their age even though they are physically able to do the excursion, it's really a shame. They only discriminate based on age because the people who do it have no idea if they have any health problems. Also very expensive (thanks to the monopoly negotiated with some politician on duty). Very bad experience.
