Highlights
- Etna Est - Start from your accommodation.
- Mount Etna - Along the trail that will take us up to 2000mt a.s.l., our guide will tell you about how the highest volcano in Europe was born, without leaving the aspects related to flora and fauna that characterize it. After admiring old and new lava flows we will proceed on foot to the inner part of old craters. The charming panorama and the picturesque scenery will give us the feeling of being on the moon.
After a short break, the hike will continue with a visit, carrying helmet and torch, inside a lava cave to admire a unique spectacle.
Walking through a luxuriant vegetation, we will finally admire the spectacular Valle del Bove.

Great guide and amazing views! - Daniele was a great guide! Even with some rain at the beginning he managed to keep the spirits high and organized the itinerary so we wouldn’t get soaked! Etna is a must watch! Unbelievable nature and story behind it!

Mother Etna - The lady who took us up Etna was very knowledgeable in the local area, geology, and Mother Etna herself. We had a fantastic time with the group and on Etna and would recommend this half day excursion if you do not intend to spend another half day and go right to the top. Etna in so big and there are so many craters and different levels you cannot see it all in a day. We had a hire car and went back again another day to see more of her.

If you are ever in Catania, you have to go on this excursion. - Leonardo was an excellent guide and he really made the whole trip wonderful with his knowledge and experience. This was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The views were incredible and exploring the caves was something we will never forget. We also enjoyed the hike and the ability to take pictures from such amazing vantage points.

Not bad. - Cool trip, nice guide.
The tour is a little shorter than I expected, but it’s not really a problem.
The tour does not take you to the top crater, but allegedly there is not much more to see up there.
Price is reasonable, after all, a shuttle transport would cost just as much from Catania to Rifugio Sapienza

Organization mediocre, guide good! - Unfortunately, we had to wait around 40 minutes for our shuttle to show up. That can happen, but if we hadn't asked, we wouldn't have been informed!
Etna itself isn't really impressive. Lots of black earth, even more people and tourist attractions on site. We also felt like we rushed through the tour, as if we were in a hurry or had to make up for lost time. The explanations themselves and the tour guide were very attentive and friendly. Great knowledge, lots of exciting details.
