Highlights
  • Korcula Town - The tour will take you through the town to the nearby parks and forest. You will enjoy the views of the historic part of Korčula Town from east and west, walk in the nearby countryside and see landmarks and structures that are rarely visited by locals. You will mostly walk in a lush green environment. However, walking through the selected urban area will give you a deeper understanding of present day life in Korčula.
  • Forteca - During the tour we will visit a fortress built during British rule in the early 19th century. It is still as strong as it once was and I will tell you about its origins. As a kid, I used to play a lot with my friends around it.

Additional Information

This excursion blends exploratory countryside hikes with an introduction to the daily life in a quaint Mediterranean village. You will witness captivating panoramas of Korčula from both its eastern and western stretches, and stroll through beautiful natural surroundings that narrate the tale of an island famed for its verdant woodland. During our journey, we will pause at some rarely visited locations, giving you a glimpse into the region’s unique culture, history, and traditions. You will be among the select 1% of visitors who get to experience these hidden gems.

A brief stop at the local fish and vegetable market will offer insights into the local gastronomic preferences.

As we conclude our tour, we’ll purchase some homemade traditional biscuits and sample a hot cup of coffee at my best-loved café. Having the luxury to savour a leisurely cup of coffee daily with companian is a privilege of residing in a small township. I cherish making new acquaintances and eagerly anticipate our coffee-time conversation. You’ll end this experience feeling invigorated, calm and fully prepared for the day ahead.

Welcome to the delightful experience of Korčula :-)

  • Please do not book the tour if you can’t walk the stairs or walk on uneven surfaces. The major part of the tour is on the dirt road or footpath, so please keep that on mind when booking. To get to one of the hills around Korčula we’ll need to climb the street with comfortable stairs (locals use them every day) and it can be demanding for those with moderate or serious heart or mobility conditions. The tour is really not demanding. However, guests with modest or serious heart or mobility conditions should not book it. Please email me if you are in doubt. I will be happy to advise you.

Great walk above Korcula. - The early morning walk above Korcula was a pleasant way to spend time. Sasa our guide was a wealth of knowledge about Korcula as it was his hometown. We had coffee and sweets after the tour and spent the next hour talking with him about our lives, and his and left feeling like we had known him forever. Thank you for a great morning. Fun hiking tour with friendly and knowledgeable local - Sasha took us on a hike through the park above Korčula Town and brought us to beautiful over looks of the town and harbor. There was an old fort at the top and many beautiful hiking trails we would never have discovered on our own. It was great spending time with a local who told us what it was like growing up and living in Korčula, and learning about the history of the island through conversation. At the end, we got incredibly tasty pastries and coffee and chatted a while longer near the marina. Would definitely recommend for a unique and personal experience of the island.

Never would have seen these things! - Sasha was a gracious tour guide, sharing history along with personal anecdotes from his own life. Having grown up on the island, he took us to see sights we would have never found. We had a lovely stop in a bakery and enjoyed several local treats and stopped for coffee to enjoy them. The only drawback to our tour was that we had to end it too soon when we had to get back for check out on time. We couldn’t have had a more relaxed or enjoyable morning start!
