Additional Information

This excursion takes you through all areas of the bamboo jungle - by the means of rickshaw and by foot!

Our first halt, after traversing the vibrant main street, is the bamboo jungle itself. Admire the rich green bamboo while your guide maneuvers you along the rickshaw-only pathway, devoid of any other tourists. Ensure your cameras or mobile phones are at the ready for capturing this unforgettable scenery.

Following our visit to the Nonomiya Shrine, we’ll uncover the second portion of the bamboo grove, fashioned as a charming park. Here you can take memorable group photos with the striking green bamboo as your backdrop. En route to the final segment of the bamboo grove, we’ll be crusing past a beautifully preserved Edo period tableau.

The last area of the bamboo forest is accessible only by foot, so our guide will leave the rickshaw at a nearby location and then lead you to the most renowned and awe-inspiring section of the bamboo jungle. (To bypass the throngs at this location, we suggest commencing the tour pre-noon)

Amazing Arashiyama! - A fantastic private rickshaw tour of Arashiyama bamboo forest. Our guide Kosei was so knowledgeable and really loves his job! He said he didn’t speak English well but we understood every word. He took the most amazing photos. We did the 60 minute tour and that was perfect. Communication with Larissa via email was excellent and we would highly recommend to everyone.

Unique, beautiful experience... and ask for Taiga! - Our experience was amazing, unique and fun. The bamboo forest tour was especially beautiful and one we will remember for a lifetime. The entire experience was very organized and our driver, Taiga, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and spoke great English even while pulling us through the forest. We were pleasantly surprised to mutually discover he went to school in Montana which is where we live. I highly recommend Kyoto Arashiyama Rickshaw to anyone visiting Kyoto... and make sure to ask for Taiga!

It was the best hospitality! - I rode it on 3/3/2024. I used it for my girlfriend's birthday and it became a wonderful memory! She took photos that an amateur couldn't take, and we were both very impressed☺️ Thank you Fujiwara Amu for the fun time! It's still cold, so please take care of yourself. It was a really good memory! Thank you very much!

Thank you for your excellent service and Mr. Sato Daimi - We are tourists from Taiwan. We saw good reviews of your company on the Internet before departure, so we decided to choose your company's service when we went to Lanshan for the first time to have this cultural experience. We didn't make a special reservation that day, but asked directly on site, and the one assigned to us was Mr. Taikai Sato. We thought the service was very good! I was originally worried that I might not understand the language, but there was no such problem at the scene. We were able to communicate smoothly in English with a little bit of Chinese and Japanese. (He relayed that the company has language teaching courses, which can also be felt from the interaction with other employees on the scene. (out of a sense of professionalism), which allowed us to understand the culture and history while visiting the local area, and very thoughtfully helped us introduce local food, while carefully taking various high-quality photos. The trip was originally scheduled for 60 minutes, but was later extended to 90 minutes. It gave me an extra temple cultural tour. Highly recommended! Thank you again to your company and Mr. Daimi Sato for giving us a very pleasant afternoon. I will definitely give priority to your company's services in the future and recommend my friends and family to participate.

It's a great experience. - It was a wonderful experience. We had our photos taken on routes that only rickshaws can go on, and it was a wonderful memory to create. I decided to take the 70-minute course for 23,000 yen. The 70 minutes went by in a flash, so I thought a longer course would have been nice. Everyone had lovely smiles and were great conversationalists, so I had a great time. I'd definitely like to experience this again.
