Super day out.. - Staff were really super and professional ..went with a 8&10 yr old and a husband that had little experience in swimming..but the staff put us at ease and we opted for the 2 hr tour with Edwardo and his partner was a pleasure to deal with..we all enjoyed the visits to the caves and the open water.. Their Kayak’s were superior to other companies at Benagil beach..highly recommend them 👍

A lot of on the SUP's - We had a lot of fun riding the SUP'sto the cave and to the beach. We would also recommend renting the wetsuits for 5€, because it quite cold and there were pretty high waves. The Communication with Eduardo was really easy and quick.

Kayak rental - I’m so glad we did the kayak rental instead of a tour. This allowed us to go at our own pace and enjoy the sites we were more keen on seeing. Eduardo gave us the instruction we needed to make this a fun and successful experience. Definitely recommend!

The BEST Kayak company at Benagil - Benagil Kayak are a fabulous company. I literally can't recommend them enough! We wanted to visit the Benagil Caves, but with the freedom of our own terms and timings (as let's be honest tour guides can be cringey and you don't always want someone with you). We booked online, so we knew we were guaranteed to get a Kayak before we turned up. I understand in summer you may need to book a few days / weeks ahead as they are obviously busier so do plan ahead. But we went in January which is off season and had no issues booking for the same or next day. Benagil Kayak are located right in the middle between the beach and the car park. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. They kept our bag for us, while we were out on the paddle boat and gave us a water proof bag for the bits we wanted to take with us (wine & beer). They were friendly and informative, giving simple straightforward instructions. They were curious as to what we wanted to see/achieve in the paddle boat and even made some recommendations about another beach further up that we might like to visit. Then we went to the beach and collected our Kayak and were left to it to sort ourselves out. This independence and trust given is perfect if like me you're a little socially avoidant and don't fancy an audience while you get in the Kayak and figure out how to make it work. Having never kayaked before, (and not being the fittest of people) the technique was really easy to get the hang of [we had watched a couple of online videos showing us how to do it the night before which I recommend as well] and we had no issues getting it to move at a steady comfortable pace. Getting to the cave was so easy, it took 5 minutes and we spent a very pleasant 50 mins admiring the cave with a light picnic. Then we took the paddle boat further up the coast to admire the caves and rock formations, before returning to the beach. When we returned, handing back the oars and collecting our belongings was again seamless. They even had a thoughtfully placed water bucket to rinse feet off after walking up the beach. All around this was a 10/10 experience and the relaxed attitude of this company made everything so pleasant, easy and enjoyable. There was no hard sell or picketing or attempts to upsell anything other than what we booked which I was also very grateful for, just turn up, get your boat and go. Despite it being January the sea was a reasonable temperature (could paddle in it comfortably) and the caves weren't too busy, so we had excellent opportunity to really look around and take photos.

Great experience with kind and knowledgeable people - Eduardo and Sonja were super helpful and easy to work with. They gave us a couple of tips for using their kayak and the general direction we would want to go to see various features of the coast.

Good rental company for self-guided visit of the Benagil Cave. - Going early was a really smart move. There were just a few other people in the cave, making it much easier to take nice photos. The beach we left from was right beside the Benagil cave, making it a very short paddle over. The waves were fairly big, so we did get splashed but they gave us a dry bag for our towels and we put the phone in that to keep it safe. We had enough time to kayak around to some other caves, but depending on how wavy it is, it might be difficult to get very far. Overall it was a good rental, we don't have any complaints. Decent price, compared to other companies, however we did not get a guided tour, but we don't feel like we really needed one. The instructions for where to meet could be made a bit clearer (there are so many tour companies around, it's hard to tell them apart). Also the marina area above the beach needs some work with it's public washrooms. No toilet paper or soap. These companies using this area should advocate for better upkeep.
