National Palace of Queluz - This is the first monument to visit, it takes around 1:30h to visit. I’ll be waiting for you for the next monument.
The National Palace of Queluz, also known as Queluz Royal Palace, is a Portuguese royal residence, in the municipality of Sintra, which was built as such between 1747 and 1760 on the project of the architect Jean-Baptiste Robillon and at the behest of Prince Pietro (Pedro) III (1717-1786) husband of Queen Maria I (1734-1816) who transformed a pre-existing country residence.
Called the “Versailles of Portugal”, the palace was used above all as a place of entertainment for the royal family: concerts, bullfights and fireworks were held there, especially on the occasion of religious holidays or other events.
Queen Maria I lived here for many years, but otherwise the palace was not very frequented by the royal family.
It is still used for concerts and as a reception place for foreign heads of state, it also houses the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art.

A Day to Remember - We had a fantastic experience with our tour guide, Antonio. He was prompt in picking us up at our hotel and was incredibly accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly throughout the entire tour. He went over and above to ensure that our day was tailored-made, even showing us a few hidden gems. His insights and stories brought the sites to life, and his friendly personality made the tour even more enjoyable. It was definitely a day to remember! Highly recommended!

Customized tour that included hidden gems - Antonio is a great guide who customized our day tour to Sintra and area. He was sensitive to our mobility issues so we went places at our own speed. He also took us to some hidden gems that only the locals know about. With his vast knowledge of history, culture and architecture we learned a lot about Portugal. He even made suggestions on must see things to do in Lisboa like the best place to hear Fado music.
On a practical level he was on time and his minivan is very comfortable.
We heard about Antonio from friends who recommended him and now we are recommending him to you.
Our day trip was the highlight of our visit.

Full & fun day! - Had a great jam-packed day in Sintra with Antonio. Communication was proactive and clear from the time of booking until the very end. The transportation vehicle was comfortable, and I appreciated that I was able to dictate the pace of the day, so as not to feel rushed at any of the stops. Antonio also has great local recommendations not typically included in other tours. Highly recommend!

Absolute recommendation - The trip with Antonio was simply perfect! An absolute recommendation and a must-do on your Portugal vacation. Antonio is a really pleasant and super friendly person. He shows you "his Portugal" and designs the tour flexibly according to the wishes and needs of his customers. You don't just see typical tourist spots but also the real Portugal with the country, people and the good food. We will look back on the day with pleasure and are already looking forward to the next time.

Mom and daughter trip - We had a fabulous time with Antonio as our guide. He was generous with his time and shared valuable information about the language, landscape, and historical sites. We saw everything we wanted to see and more, also felt safe and taken care of throughout the tour. We have loved our time in Portugal and have great memories thanks to Antonio.

Private Sintra tour - If I could give Antonio more than 5 stars, I would. He is a wonderful tour guide. He provides both history, culture and tips for a wonderful visit. He has a warm and gentle personality and his communication is wonderful. He reached out to me right away after I booked with him. He is very flexible and his goal to to make sure the tour meets your expectations. I highly recommend him!

Don't miss this opportunity if you go to Lisbon - We were a group of 4 friends, and had an unforgettable day with Antonio. From first contact to Antonio via mail, we were well informed abuot time etc, possibilities of sights, food and refreshments aso. Antonio took us around to the beautifull sights, and we just had to relax, take in all the view's, and enjoy. We finished in Cascais, dinning together with Antonio on a fantastic restarant. We can highly recommend Antonio, which beside is a splendid guide also knows a lot of the history conected to the sights.

Lisbon to Sintra and everything in between - Antonio was absolutely amazing. In one day me and my daughter were able to have a full experience from Lisbon to Sintra and everything in between. He was kind, patient, and we never felt rushed. The best private tour I have ever taken. I will definitely book again in the future.

Antonio is a terrific Sintra guide! - Antonio was a fantastic guide for our day trip to Sintra! He goes out of his way to make the day both memorable and customized to what you want to do. It’s well worth a visit to Sintra, which has many beautiful places to see, but be forewarned that basically all the sites involve hills and/or stairs. (It looked like some have courtesy vans you can take advantage of though.) If you’re up for a rigorous day, you can do all the highlights but if you want to take it easier, read up on the sites first and work with António to prioritize. Also wear sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes as well as comfortable clothes to walk in!
But the bottom line is that Antonio is a terrific guide, and when we come back to Portugal, we’ll be calling him again!
