Additional Information

This guided walking tour of the historic Highlands district showcases Louisville and Kentucky’s history through its food. As you stroll the oldest and most representative streets of Louisville, you’ll sample (and drink) delectable local products; visit the graves of Muhammad Ali and Colonel Sanders; taste a dish reminiscent of the Hot Brown at Muhammad Ali’s past boxing gym; savor bourbon at the oldest bar in Louisville; follow the journey of the immigrants who molded the city; and marvel at luxurious Victorian residences and classic architecture.

The Highlands district is one of Louisville’s earliest areas and has consistently been one of its most energetic and cherished. Historic Victorian residences adorn leafy, tree-framed streets that branch from a main road leading all the way to Bourbon territory, sprinkled with bright murals, quirky stores and trendy local eateries & pubs.

So fun to be a tourist in our town with Louisville Food Tours - Sorghum Pot de Crème, Hot Brown pizza, Pretzel Bread, a fantastic blackberry & bourbon cocktail, and a bourbon tasting. All of this yumminess was expertly curated by Louisville Food Tours. My husband and I did the Highlands Heritage Tastes & Tales Tour today, which was led by Jeremy. The bites and drinks were woven in between learning about the architecture of the stunning homes and gardens in the Highlands and Cherokee Triangle. Such a relaxing, fun afternoon. Would totally do another tour with Louisville Food Tours!

Nice leisurely walking tour - Our tour guide Ren was awesome! Great stories and history of Louisville. The food and drink was good as well. I would definetly recommend this tour if you are a bourbon drinker. Lots of bourbon tasting and drinks. My favorite drink was the bourbon, lemonade and blueberry purey drink called Larry's Berries at Flanagan's Irish Pub, named after the squirrel that hangs out on the patio in back.

Delicious afternoon in Louisville - Best way to get to know a new city is to taste and walk through a district of the new city. Ren was our tour guide, and she had lots of history and fun facts about this part of Louisville. Beautiful architecture mixed with history facts and delicious food & drink! Thank you, Ren! I highly recommend this afternoon in Louisville!

Let the party continue! - What a great way to experience a part of Louisville a day after attending the Kentucky Derby! Regina is a wonderful tour guide. She knows the history and architecture of the neighborhood. We experienced local food and drink in the bars/restaurants along the walking tour. Two thumbs up and a five star rating!
