Excellent Service For Kilimanjaro - My friends and I did Kilimanjaro with guides from Kilimanjaro Economy Safari and had a blast. They took excellent care with topmost support to the summit and back to Moshi. Trekking with these experts (guides Tom, Jeff and Michael) is an incredible experience. You feel safe knowing that the person you are with has done this countless times, understands the best way to approach trek and closely monitored our physical condition. The equipment was in excellent condition and served us well, and so was the food. We had an accomplished cook preparing our food, ensuring that we had three hot meals, well hydrated and plenty of snacks to power us. Machame course is tough, it takes physical and mental strength to get to the summit. We made it to Kilimanjaro's summit just after sunrise and relished this moment. I have never done anything this hard in my life and I am happy that I had the full support from Kilimanjaro Economy Safari. I highly recommend this company as an excellent choice for Kilimanjaro trekking for very reasonable rates.

Unforgettable Kilimanjaro Adventure - What is not to like about this company. Everything was absolutely perfect. Seamless communication from Teacher with his prompt detailed answers to all our questions, briefed us on how to best prepare for the trek and was there at JRO to welcome us when we arrived. The service was first class and I particularly appreciate the excellent work put in by the climbing crew. They took us under their care, treated with respect and care. Our health and well-being was top on their list. We found the route to be beautiful and scenic, starting off with the lush green tropical forest. The scenes kept changing as we moved up the mountain up to the glaciers at the top. The food and accommodations were excellent. I highly appreciate Mustapha our lead guide for taking us to the summit in an adventure that I will never forget.

Good memories of our Kilimanjaro trek - My brother and I, along with two of our cousins, had an incredible time on Kilimanjaro. We did the Machame route with the help of an incredible team of guides and porters. We found a well prepared team which was led by guide Mushi. They were patient, charming and hardworking, taking care of our every need. I was impressed with the good quality tents which kept us dry and comfortable at all times. The food was also very good. The trek was difficult, but being with Mushi and his team helped us reach the summit safely. I highly recommend this company for Kilimanjaro trekking

Dream made real!!! - The 6 day Kilimanjaro adventure has been a dream come true for me. This company has to be top rated tour operator in Kilimanjaro turs and Tanzania safari as well. We came from Europe but the hospitality from our agency we have never seen before. Thank you Teacher for making it happens, we will recommend our friends to come to TANZANIA and do the tours with kilimanjaro economy safari

Something we will remember forever - This trip exceeded all expectations. The team was absolutely incredible every step of the way. There is no way that we would have made it without them. William and Goodluck were the best guides that you could ask for. They were so encouraging and fun! If you are thinking about doing Kilimanjaro I would recommend this group for an amazing time.

Great company for Kilimanjaro - Our family of four just finished climbing Kilimanjaro via the Machame route with Kilimanjaro Economy Safari and really had a fantastic time. From the communication with the owner before the trip to the climb we felt well taken care of. Our guides (William and Tuleze) had a wealth of knowledge of the flora and fauna along the way and really made our trip memorable. We all made the summit thanks to our guides. We were well taken care of throughout. I also appreciated that part of their profits go to a local orphanage in Moshi. Well worth the money.

Lots of hidden costs, chief guide tried to scam us, but beautiful hike and made it to the summit! - Overall, the climb itself was incredible and definitely worth it! (Most of our photos are on our good camera which we haven’t downloaded yet so just phone photos for the review lol) However, we had some issues with this company so I’ll lay out the pros and cons of what we experienced - Pros - we got to the top and back!!! All but one of the crew were amazing - it was unfortunate that the one crew member we had major issues with was the chief guide but I’ll mention that in the cons - everyone else was amazing! The chef was incredible, the porters are unbelievable carrying so much weight so efficiently, and we loved the popcorn and tea time and hot washes that were provided. We had medical checks before starting each day, and although the chief guide took pictures of us on his phone - we never actually got them which is sad but had them take most of the same photos on our camera as well. Cons.. the company doesn’t send you the packing list when you book - only a couple days before the start of the hike, and they don’t tell you that everything on it is mandatory - then they make you pay 2-5x the amount other rental companies in the area charge for bad quality gear. We rented what we thought we’d need from a local rental company - Gilman’s - and they had decent prices for excellent gear! But because we didn’t realize it was all mandatory until the briefing the night before and we were forced to pay for the companies gear - we had our own nice thermals but apparently needed 2 sets and the “thermals” they had were stretched out, thin and worn, and they charged us $20usd per piece to rent. Also we had heard from others that other rental companies send this list as soon as you book and also send recommendations for altitude sickness tablets to get and prepare to take prior to coming - we had done our research and got them but it would’ve been nice to have that recommendation when we booked. They also upsell you on oxygen - $190usd - and although we didn’t use it we can see the possibility of needing it and got it for peace of mind, but just another hidden cost to keep in mind. Additionally, this company gives you the estimated ranges for tips that are $10usd more per person per day than the average tip other companies recommend - we did our research and looked at other companies so just know that this particular company will charge you more than the average - whether they don’t pay their employees as much I’m not sure, but it was a little surprising when we had numbers in our head for budgeting purposes and then they tell you something so much more. Then the hike - we had a chief guide named Haji - who deliberately tried to scam us out of money on the hike by lying to us saying there were 9 porters when there were only 6. (You have to tip each porter per day so it adds up pretty quick). Then he tried to tell me it was my fault my husband got altitude sickness because I hiked too fast and harassed me about it bringing it up 10-20x per day. He tried to “punish” me I suppose and made me hike slower to the point where multiple other groups were passing us, not that’s it’s a competition but he knew we wanted to hike a little faster and intentionally made us go really slow, then said “fine you want to go fast - RUN” and took off running up the mountain without us. When the porters came to take our bags at the end of the day he gave them his instead of ours. And he yelled at us for taking malaria tablets when his information is dated, and when I tried to explain (I’m a registered nurse) he wouldn’t have it and spoke over me and argued until I wasn’t allowed to say anything else. I contacted the company after with my complaints (there were more about Haji but I won’t bore you with the details) and they said they were keeping him on in the company and will have a talk to him, so who knows if he will change just be wary of a guide named Haji if you do end up booking with this company. They also never offered to play music like other groups, other groups had chants and got stories and we just got the bare minimum. But the hike is beautiful so it is what you make it! I hope this helps in your decision on what company to go with - there are so many companies out there and the hike is so so amazing!!!!
