Walking tour of historic Padova including Scrovegni chapel - Silvia was an excellent guide: knowledgeable, approachable, and passionate about her city and its treasures. She kept us on time, which was very important in order to see the Scrovegni chapel, and yet we never felt rushed. She explained the Basilica of San Antonio in depth and in a way that made its history come alive. She also maximized our understanding of the Scrovegni chapel with a concise summary while inside it. We highly recommend this tour of historic Padova with Silvia as an outstanding guide.

Though Viator changed the time of our tour the night before, our guide, Carla was superb—scholarly and thorough! - Carla’s excellent grasp of Giotto’s works at the Scrovegni Chapel were worth the whole tour. Her knowledge of both historic and present-day Padua made for a great tour.

Expensive but worth it! - We decided on a private tour because we had limited time in Padua. Sylvia met us at a designated location close to our lodgings and tailored her information to our interests. The tour was directed by our pace and she was not only knowledgeable, she also made recommendations based on our interests for things to do in the afternoon. Although expensive for two people, this private tour encompassed the major sites we wanted to see and saved us time having to plan and reserve tickets.

Bella Padua - Carla was our guide. We got mixed up with the meeting place but once we met up we had a wonderful experience. The Bascillica of St Anthony of Padua was thrilling as was the Svovenie Chapel that was painted by Giotto.

I'd Give this More Stars if I Could - It was so important to me to visit the Arena Chapel because it's Giotto was one of the transition artists to the Italian Renaissance. And the subtlety of the frescoes simply doesn't show up in photographs. I had an amazing guide who explained the panels and made it come alive. The we walked through Padua to the St. Anthony's Church. It is marked by a sculpture of Donatello's - the first horse and rider made of cast bronze since Ancient Rome. The church has an altar w/ bronze panels made by Donatello which show the artist's ability to capture the humanity of his subjects. My guide managed to get permission to show me the back side of the altar which is unusual. I think she was fabulous and I enjoyed this tour so much. Padua is out of the way, but available by train as I did it from Venice to Florence. Well worth the trip..
