Built in the 13th century under the rule of King Pere II the Great, the port of Palamós has been a significant contributor to the city’s commercial scene. During our arrival in Girona, we schedule a guided walk through the key tourist attractions of the city, with a special stop at the Cathedral—a structure reflecting different architectural styles from eras such as Gothic and Roman. We take a tour of the 12th-century Arab baths, located inside the Capuchin monastery. From there, we proceed to Figueres to explore the Salvador Dalí Theater-Museum. Known as the capital of Alt Empordá, Figueres is famous for its wine cellars and shoreline. Our subsequent stop will be at Perelada, an erstwhile county town. Here, we explore Perelada Castle, a Renaissance-era fortress, then make a stop at La Botiga del Celler. We conclude our journey with a return to Palamós, where a wine tasting session and wine-pairing dinner awaits us.
