Unmissable activity - The activity to do in Polignano a Mare, unmissable. A breathtaking view, the transparency of the water and the beauty of the caves was incredible. The boat company was one of the best for us, slow cruising speed takes its time, the 1h30 visit is largely full. I recommend

Charming boat ride through the grottos - We struggled to find the meeting point *stress face* but everyone was super nice when I turned up late and a hot sweaty mess. We had a boat to ourselves and our skipper was super charming! He didn't speak much English but sometimes it's just nice to communicate with single words and hand gestures. We got to tour all of the grottos (never-ending amount!) with pre-recorded commentary so as to learn some of the history and backstory. We finished with an aperitif. It was just a really pleasant afternoon out on the water and a nice way to see the city and the Adriatic Coast.

Must do when visiting Polignano! 10/10 - I booked this trip before coming to Italy, and the organisation is professional in both communication and organisation. Everybody is expected to be there 30 mins upfront. While you wait for your boat, there are some nice photo opportunities in the bay, or you can have a drink in a bar nearby. When the boat arrives, they let an acceptable amount of people enter, so everybody has enough space. We did a tour with crew Christian and captain Carlo. They were both very helpful and told us about all the different caves and beaches we passed, as well as other aspects of doing boat tours. There were 3 highlights for me: seeing Lama Monachile beach from the boat, navigating into one of the most difficult caves (really skillfully done by the captain) and the pause to swim in the Mediterranean once you have passed by all the caves (ask your captain for this!). They even let someone captain the boat for a bit on a more easy part of the tour. One tip for the organisation: not every boat had a "sunscreen" mounted on it. I was glad I was on a boat that had one, but other people might also have wanted this. In any case, lastly, they gave us a snack + some cava after the dive, and there was good music during the whole trip. 10/10 would recommend, your trip to Polignano is not complete without it.

Worst experience of our vacation - A truly terrible experience. We had this booking for weeks, travelled down from Bari to do the tour. It was very lightly raining and the guide met us and told us the tour was cancelled. We asked when this was communicated and he said he just sent an email a minute ago. When we complained about the lack of notice (the weather forecast wasn’t a surprise and it was actually fine anyway), he basically laughed in our face and told us to go to hell. Just ridiculous, do not book this experience! These awful people will not treat you well!
