Additional Information

The Caserta Palace stands as a remarkable work of architecture in Italy’s southern region. Constructed in 1750 by the Bourbon ruler, Charles of Naples, this magnificent residence is composed of over 1,200 sumptuously decorated rooms and expansive gardens that rival those found elsewhere in Europe. Ciro, one of our expert local guides, suggests that visitors ‘take the time to appreciate the elements that influenced distinguished architect Luigi Vanvitelli, study his creations in depth, and learn about the century-long construction period during a time when Italy was not yet a unified nation.’
Wonder at the gardens’ deceptive vastness as they seem to extend infinitely towards the horizon. The gardens boast fountains, statuary, and waterfalls all influenced by classical mythology. Immerse yourself in nature, observing an array of native and foreign plant species found in the English Gardens, which are further adorned with water bodies and temples.
Within the palace walls, ascend the grandiose Grand Staircase. Take a tour of the plush Royal Apartments that are ornately decorated with frescoes, gold accents, illuminated by chandeliers and filled with baroque furniture. Other features include the chapel and the theater, a scaled-down replica of Naples’ Teatro San Carlo, guaranteed to leave you in absolute awe.

Worth every penny! - I originally signed up for a later tour that did not include garden. I then found this earlier tour with the garden, so I booked this instead. It ended up being private because noone else signed up for our slot. Our guide Alessia was fantastic. So much information, so much history, and a pleasure to be with. Glad we opted for tour that included garden (there are actual 2, the formal and the English). I strongly recommend this tour when visiting the royal palace, it enriches the entire experience.

Alessia, you’re a star guide - One of the best tours we’ve done in Italy. Our tour guide, Alessia was very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and made the tour highly enjoyable. We learnt a lot about the history of Reggia, its king and the art works. The palace was stunning and rivals Versailles and the view from top of gardens was one of the most spectacular sights we’ve seen. There is a bus to take you up top for the less mobile. Thank you, Alessia, for an unforgettable experience.

Best guide in my Italy trip! - It was impressive the magnitude and beauty of the Palace but the Engish garden was jus awesome. But the best part of all was our tour guide, think her name was Vanessa, she really knew a lot, very educational! Just loved her!

Unforgettable day in Reggia di Caserta - We've been hosted by Alessia who was a charming and interesting guide, with original sense of humour and a lot of patience, the Reggia (and its gardens) is a lovely huge enchanting site that deserves a day in , slowly walking and breathing a paradise-in-the-city experience that is 3 minutes walking from the city. I advice to go in this season, no lines, easy parking, quiter enviroment. Thanks Alessia and the agency for the beautiful experience!

Great tour of castle and gardens! - Our tour guide was fabulous! She very much understood the history of the castle and gardens. Although Southern Italian, our guide's use of subtle jokes in English demonstrated her strong command of the language. Unfortunately, it was raining on our day, so we spent much of our time inside the castle versus in the gardens. The castle is very nice but it was crowded possible due to the rain. The gardens, especially the English garden, are incredible! Would have liked to spend more time learning about those, but again, the rain. I'd highly recommend this tour and our guide.

No Tour - We showed up for tour and could not find tour guide. We immediately Reached out to tour company and they did not respond for over 3 hours. They told us that we could go pick up our tickets at ticket office and use them. Unfortunately, our tour was for 10 am and we were not going to sit around waiting 3 hours until we heard from the tour company. We ended up buying new tickets to visit the sight without guide. It was very disappointing that the tour guide did not even attempt to reach out to us and it took 3 Hours for someone to respond to us. Would recommend buying tickets for sight and using headsets that were provided and avoid expense for your guide.
