Highlights
  • Initially a group of humble fishing hamlets, the stunning Amalfi Coast of Italy has evolved into a supreme travel hotspot of worldwide renown. However, increased popularity often entails complex issues. The coast is battling challenges such as extensive vehicular presence, crippling congestion, inadequate parking facilities, and nightmare-inducing twisting roads that render bi-directional commuting a horror.

The day tour starting from Rome allows travelers to make smart choices by not compromising on ease and opulence. By opting for high-speed train travels, you enjoy additional leg space, complimentary refreshments, and halve your travel duration. Your adventure commences the moment you step off the train and onto the wharf.

  • Your guide will accompany your close-knit group from the train to the ferry. Relish a one-hour boat ride from Salerno to Positano, the once humble fishing settlement now bestowed with a UNESCO World Heritage status and frequented by the global upper crust. Reaching Positano, the crown jewel of the Amalfi Coast, you have the option to take a morning dip or tour the numerous upscale boutiques and local artisan shops, post which you can indulge in a slow-paced lunch before getting back onto the pier for a brief journey to our subsequent pit-stop, the vibrant town of Amalfi.

Amalfi, the lively town from which the breathtaking coast derives its name, bustles with vibrant shops, fantastic restaurants, and beaches. The town makes for an excellent backdrop for memorable pictures. Your guide will then take you on a quick orientation walk, showcasing the iconic cathedral from the 11th-century and allow a tasting session of the aromatic limoncello at a local store, post which you can bask in your leisure time either exploring, shopping, or soaking the sun at the beach.

  • Departing from Amalfi, engage in a brief sail back to Salerno, absorbing distinctive panoramas of the townships of Minori, Maiori, Cetara, and Ravello from the sea. Your guide will be with you, escorting you from the pier to the station (a stone’s throw away) to ensure your punctual return to Rome.

Amalfi is a yes for anyone who wants to visit. - Enjoyed our day to the Amalfi Coast and Positano. The tour guide was great with our group of 10. Only thing not in our control, the weather. Could have been a little sunny and not so overcast. Oh, well. The trip was still worth it. One thing for the tour operator, our to/from Salerno for the bullet train said carriage 9. To/from for the trip we had to find seats that weren't already sold/taken on any carrirage 1 through 7.

Great experience - Our tour guide was named Mauro who was great! Friendly, full of knowledge on food recommendations once in Amalfi town and Amalfi cathedral relics, and even had gum on hand for any who suffers from sea sickness. We were unable to go to Positano due to the sea but we were happy to spend a longer period of time in Amalfi. Amalfi is as stunning as the photos demonstrate. Would definitely go again!

Exceptional tour to the Amalfi Coast. - Francesco was really an outstanding guide. The perfect amount of courtesy, helpfulness, knowledge and humor. We loved this tour, there was no way we could have had this much fun on our own. Highly recommend those considering a day trip to the Amalfi Coast.

Amalfi Coast Trip - This trip was a big disappointment. It was not the tour guides fault . He was very nice. The trip should have been at least 2 hours maybe 3 and Amalfi 1 or 2 at the most. I have been to both towns at least 6 times. I have stayed in Positano and Ravello. I selected this trip to show my 34 year old grandson the area. Others on the trip felt the same. Positano is on the water and the views are terrific when dining from any of the waterside restaurants . The shops are more diverse then Amalfi and there are more shops then all the same trinket shops in Amalfi. Also the guide did not have head sets for us to be able explain any of the sites enroute. He hopped like a bunny from person to person on the ferry trying to talk to each group individually. Again not his fault l All in all extremely overpriced for the experience and a huge disappointment . I have taken other Viator excursions and have enjoyed them all except this one. Bad value for the cost

Horrible - Tour guide did not assist with directions to/on train. Therefore we paid over $500 for a tour that we didn’t take. And Viator refuses to reimburse any part of our payment.
