A great experience with an excellent driver / tour guide!! - This was a wonderful experience. The driver was not just a driver but an excellent and knowledgeable guide as well. He was very accommodating to our wishes and took us around to several beautiful places and even recommended a great place to eat. We will definitely request him if we come back.

We were on a 10 day cruise and our day in Rome was the best day of all. Thank you Manny and Rome Private Excursions! - We were 8 friends and enjoyed a private tour of Rome. We were met at the ship by our professional driver and tour guide. The 8 person van was nice with plenty of room. We saw every site we wanted to visit. The tour was easy to book and we received reminders and confirmation as the day was near.

The BEST TOUR -- 20 STARS🌟 🤩 - I can't say enough about our trip to Rome. Monik was such an amazing help with helping pick the perfect tour for a group of 8, ranging in ages 20 to 80. Monik suggested we get a tour guide at the Vatican and skip the line tickets. He saved us from having to wait over 2 hours if we did not have a guide. We were picked from CVT port by Manny. Manny was so engaging and knowledgeable and funny. We drove about 75 minutes from CVT port to Rome. He was an excellent driver. He coordinated with Luca, our tour guide at the Vatican. They dropped us off close to the Vatican entrance. Luca has a background in art history emphasis on Paleo-Christian history. There is noooo way we could truly maneuver through the crowds and understand what we were witnessing without Luca. To say the Vatican Museums lines were 2 miles long, we were happy to pay extra to avoid this. Luca got us inside in a timely manner. He takes his job very seriously. He is funny and passionate about teaching you everything you need to know. Luca escorted us to St Peter’s Square and other areas. Manny would meet us and on to the next spot. Manny took extra care of my 80 year old mom when she physically couldn't walk the stairs of the Colosseum. She stayed with him in the van. Please dont hesitate when booking. I liked the private tour guides over the MSC cruise excursions package because they were expensive and had 30 persons to 1 tour guide. Rome Private Excursions are fair in pricing, but well worth it. I would give 20 STARS 🌟 🤩 ⭐️ 🌠 .

Look no further! I did the research....let me save you time....this is the group you want to use. - Long review....made short....this group was incredible! We had a group of 17 people....6 adults and 11 kids. Rome private excursions took care of everything start to finish. The planning ahead was creative and personalized to what we were looking for. The communication was extremely professional and all the guess work was removed by Luca and his team. We were able to do back to back excursions in Naples and Rome and both days were incredible. The van drivers....where to start. Let's just say, the kids were extremely sad after the second day saying goodbye. We had Manny, Angelo, Dominic, and Max as our drivers and they were incredible. Their English is perfect and they were extremely accommodating and went the extra mile on EVERYTHING. They personalized our two extremely busy days and saved us an enormous amount of time and frustration. The company is incredible and local professionals. The guides the provided for our tours were extremely knowledgeable and kind. Our drivers set us up on private meals with reserved tables (extremely hard to do with a group of 17), made local stops at requested venues and recommended local secrets that we wouldn't have known about. Let me save you time as I researched a lot of your companies....this is the group you're looking for from start to finish. Pricing was extremely competitive and the vans that were provided were beautiful and extremely clean. We couldn't be happier.....we just wish we had more time. These excursions were action-packed and we got dropped off at the front at each stop and picked up as soon as we left. We felt like celebrities both days. Thanks Luca and team! See you next time.

Couples tour - What an amazing guide!!!!! He picked the 3 couples up from our hotel showed around the major sights of Rome. We had a tour for the Colosseum at 1pm so we called and made reservations to go to Domitilla Catacombe. What an amazing place! He drove us to a lookout area where we could see all of Rome and take beautiful pictures of the area. He went above and beyond to make our day amazing and wonderful memories. We could not have asked for a better day!

The Absolute Best Way to see Rome in a Day!!! - I can’t say enough about Rome Private Excursions. The 2 guides were exceptional! The driver, Manny (Manferd, I believe) picked us up at our cruise ship port and drove us to the best sites in Rome and seemed to have special access/parking. What a great way to see Rome in a short time! We only had a day in Rome. The best was our private tour of the Vatican. I frankly wouldn’t recommend anyone do the Vatican any other way. Our guide, Dorianna, guided us through the major sites. We skipped the lines, which were pretty long. I can’t imagine waiting in those long lines in the summer in the hot sun. But more importantly, she described the importance and origin of the most significant artifacts. Most of these artifacts had no signs to explain them, so if Dorianna wasn’t there to explain we wouldn’t have gotten much out of our walk through the Sistine Chapel, Saint Peter’s Basilica, and the passages to get there.

Rome for a day! - Had a great tour of Rome with Antonio. We were picked up at the port and returned right on time. It was a challenging day of traffic in the city but Antonio made it worth the extra driving with his great knowledge of and passion for his city. We ended up making all the requested stops plus a few more! Cant recommend these guys enough. Great experience for the whole family.

A Perfect Day in Rome! - WHAT A DAY! We were met 10 minutes early by our driver, Angelo, at the Civitavecchia port. The prompt professional pickup from the quality of his sign to the cleanliness of the car, a Mercedes, was superior to what we observed of competitors at the dock We immediately knew we had made a great decision in choosing Rome Private Excursions. Angelo was awesome! An enormous wealth of information and street knowledge of Rome. By 10:00 A.M. we had visited Circus Maximus, the Coliseum, the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain and never felt rushed. We asked if we could stop for a cappuccino and pastry, so BAM, Angelo puts us on a perfect spot with street side seating directly across from the Pantheon! Just fabulous! Of course we hit other notable spots like “the Wedding Cake”, the Roman Forum remains and the site where Caesar was murdered by Brutus but what really stood out was our request to have lunch at a local’s trattoria. Angelo took us to what I’d describe as a small family diner where very little English was spoken. Angelo interpreted for us and assisted us with ordering and recommendations. Everything was perfect! For after lunch we had scheduled through Rome Private Excursions, a private guided tour of Vatican City (museum, Sistine Chapel & St Peter’s Basiica). Here Angelo introduced us to our Vatican City guide, Maria. She knew EVERYTHING about Vatican City and especially how to get in and out of places (skip the line type access). With her credentials and knowledge she prepped us with details prior to our viewing of the actual buildings, halls, art, even certain tiles on the floor…you name it. It was so interesting, things we would have never known or seen if we had been on our own! For an enormous understatement, Maria was INCREDIBLE! Our Vatican City tour was amazing. Now again with Angelo for our trip back Civitavecchia, as we left Rome he stopped on a hill that provided a magnificent view of this incredible city. A view that will be stamped on our minds forever! Well worth the cost - Christano was our driver and did an excellent job navigating the narrow traffic laden streets of Rome. We were able to see all of the “must see” sites and even added several more stops which enhanced our experience. If you have ever considered a private tour, I would say this company is well worth the cost. Would highly recommend.

Beyond Amazing - Most amazing experience and private tour I have ever taken! Johnnie met us right off the ship and was immediately funny and personable. The drive into Rome, Johnnie entertained us with historical facts and stories that were so interesting. We were able to see so much with our driver dropping us off at each site, avoiding the crowds and picking us up right after. He took us to out of the way restaurants allowing us to enjoy a peaceful lunch away from the throngs of other tourists. He was absolutely perfect - helpful, accommodating and so knowledgeable. Then he took us to meet our private guide for the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. Maria whisked us right through the hoards of people and gave us a 2 1/2 hour tour of the Vatican. She had so much knowledge and was able to expertly guide us through the museums. This trip was the trip of a lifetime and our two guides had such a tremendous impact on making it absolutely worthwhile, perfect and informative. We plan to go back for a longer visit and hire the same guides to see the rest of the city. They were both outstanding and the company was fabulous. Can't wait to see them again.
