Castle views from the Dordogne - There were two of us- myself and my adult daughter. They did a great job of calling us before to make sure we went to the correct starting spot. They checked us in, showed us a map on the wall of where we were going, got us life jackets and a dry bucket (5 gallon bucket with a lid) and then took us down to the boat. They asked if we had kayaked before and my daughter said she had not for a long time but I had. They told us to get in the boat and pushed us out. Off we went. As we passed other kayak entries into the Dordogne we saw people getting paddling instruction. If you need that, ask for it. They were very nice and I am sure would give a little lesson. The views were amazing, the adventure lasted from 10:30- 1:15. We waited til 2:00 to be picked up, which was not a hardship at all. We had an espresso and enjoyed some snacks. The ride back to our car was good. We would do this again.

Excellent - Excellent experience, we took the longer trip of 6 castles and didn't regret it. Fantastic scenery, our 7 year old son felt confident in our three man canoe. Highly recommend. Staff were super friendly and helpful, spoke good English and have good sense of humour. One thing that's worth noting (for us it wasn't a negative), there are some largeish boats that travel up and down the river between a couple of bridges which do produce a bit of choppy (aka fun) water and you will definitely want to be getting out of their way. 5 out of 5

Lovely day - Peaceful beautiful experience, the birds and jumping out to visit the towns. Also, being picked up near our hotel was very helpful.

Amazing journey though time on the Dordogne - This was a most amazing and fun trip. The staff and owner of Canoes Loisirs were on hand and very friendly and helpful. The trip downstream (5 castles) was effortless and beautiful. We saw lots of waterfowl including herons and white swans. Stopped at La Roque-Gageac and Beynac for wonderful sightseeing and a tasty lunch. The villages are quaint and surprising in their diversity. The flowers in May were astoundingly beautiful. We took our time and didn't finish up until nearly 17:00, so the owner himself actually picked us up to take us back to the canoe center. The service was phenomenal. His attitude was so positive. He definitely made us smile and laugh. All in all one of the best days in our one month sojourn in France.

Navigating between Castles - It is pleasant to travel by boat in these waters, visiting castles and picturesque and cozy places, everything is also very romantic and sailing is a great experience recommended for everyone.

Stunning - Superb canoe trip for the whole family. We were there with children aged 8 to 12, and a dog. Everyone benefited from it. There are small pebble beaches almost all along the walk, perfect for a little swimming break in the summer. We pass one of the most beautiful villages in France. Very pleasant.

Great way to spend a day - Floating down the Dordogne River is a wonderful way to spend a day in this area. Canoe Loisiers provided the perfect package - all the equipment we needed, plus transport to the starting point and pickup at the end. We arrived about 45 minutes early for our 11 am trip, and although we were fine with waiting until 11, they arranged to take us to the starting point early. Very well organized and nice people.

Highlight of the holiday - A not to miss experience and the best way to see the beauty and peaceful nature of the Dordogne especially when its quieter in mid Sept. It’s our 3rd time and always a highlight of the holiday - take as little or as long as you like, stopping off along the way to swim in the crystal clean waters or look out for kingfishers. We did the 5 bridge tour this time as weren’t sure if our new mischievous teen dog would be manageable for the longest trip but he enjoyed it too. It took us around 4.5 hrs with stop offs. This Co are super organised and friendly from start to finish and drop you back at your car at the finish. Highly recommend hiring from here - simply book online and turn up, they make everything clear and effortless and offer an app for guidance along the way now.

Cancelled experience - Trip was cancelled due to high water levels on the river. We were very disappointed as this was one of the reasons we travelled to Sarlat. ☹️
