The most interesting things to visit are:

The visit of the town and its magnificent towers will take about an hour. San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town not far from Siena. Known as the “Town of Fine Towers”, during the Middle Ages there were more than 70 towers in the city. Now it is a real open-air museum, where it seems to walk in the medieval period. The town also is known for saffron, the Golden Ham, and its white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, produced from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grape which is grown on the sandstone hillsides of the area. In the main square don’t forget to taste the best ‘ice cream in the world’ (Gelateria Dondoli), and in the streets of the village you can admire the extraordinary work of expert craftsmen.

A Perfect Day in Tuscany with a Kind and Cultured Guide. So much love and thought was put into this tour. Forever Memories ♥ - We were a family of 6, all ages: mom, dad, grandpa, teenager, pre-teen and three year old. First, Andrea, our guide, was the most literate and kind man. I made a mistake in our apartment address and even though he had to go to two addresses to find us, Andrea was kind, understanding and warm and engaging. He was wonderful with my kids, as well as with my father in law. Andrea speaks excellent English and loves Italian history and literature and has a passion for Tuscany and is a wine expert. Having lived in Italy before and also having studied Italian and history in university, I could tell that Andrea loved his job and company and was never trying to upsell us or scam. Volterra is my favourite Tuscan town and his too, and he was a great guide to show my family. Volterra is lovely and not very touristy. Then came the big surprise, as Andrea has arranged lunch a truly magnificent winery with the most perfect view of San Gimignano and the countryside I could ever imagine. The food and service was excellent and handmade at the farm. The wine was truly excellent. There was no pressure to buy, and the kids played in sunny vineyards. Then we had a good tour of San Gimignano where I learned new things about the towers and had the best gelato of my life (Andrea will show you the right shop - no puffy gelato!). We had a day that we will remember forever and recommend this tour and company to anyone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Wonderful tour to end our visit to Tuscany - The Tuscan countryside was beautiful. Daniel was a great driver. Lunch outside with the view of San Gimignano was priceless. Volterra is a hidden gem. It was good to spend more time in Volterra than San Gimignano.
