2-day alexandria + cairo guided tour - I come from quebec canada ❤️. For a good price i've booked 2 days accompanied with a guide. Today I went with mamodow, he was ready at 8 am sharp and helped me with anything i needed. We drove to alexandria to visit the catacombs, the citadel, the library, and to eat some seafood at the beach. It's a beautiful city and my experience could not have been the same without mamodow's help. He speaks great english and is very fun. We drove back to the hotel today and tomorrow i booked again with the travel connection tours for a visit of old cairo with their historical/religious landmarks & museums. I recommend the travel connection tours to anyone travelling to Egypt. I will book this company when i come back again ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5 star service

Amazing tour in Alexandria booked with ThevTravel Connection Tours.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - We came from Houston Texas. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️We had an amazing day trip from Cairo to Alexdria with tour guide who spoke English well. They picked up and dropped off at the Best View Pyramids Hotel. Car was very clean. We went to Fort Qautbay, the library, Big mosque and ate seafood. Everything was amazing! 5 star service. I highly recommend. We felt safe and secure the whole time. When I book again, it will be with The Travel Connection Tours. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Private car to the museum and citadel - Private car around Alexandria, visiting the museum and citadel Both covered in a morning 3 hours or so There is no guide, but you can wander at your own pace , you will get hassled by locals wanting a tip The museum can be covered in 30 minutes, minute compared to the museums in Cairo About an hour covers the citadel The driver I had spoke very little English , I did book an English tour , we managed to converse via translate Just a scratch on the surface of this city

It started out a bit... - It started out a bit rough due to a misunderstanding about the meeting place, but Atef came through and made the day wonderful. He took us to some beautiful spots around Alexandria and even stopped so we buy an exotic fruit called estha ( atis in our country). To top it off, he treated us to ice cream at the end! Thank you, Atef, for your kindness and for making our experience so enjoyable.

Guide had to use notes... - Guide had to use notes about each stop and the local history of Alexandria. Van was very over crowded. Seats had to be moved every time we stopped.

Guide does not know the city or the places to visit - Our guide was friendly but came from Cairo and therefore did not know the sites we visited. He didn't know the roads and used Waze to steer. His knowledge of the sites was limited by a few brief notes written the night before probably as a result of Internet searches. We had requested a visit in French and were paired with an English-speaking group.

The location of pick up... - The location of pick up is not immediately at cruise port but a 1/2 mile walk across a bridge into downtown, which was not mentioned in the description. We were asked to arrive for the tour at 8am, but the first location, a museum, didn’t open until 9am. We sat in the car for 20 minutes waiting for the doors to open. It’s also important to note that the provider is not Viator, but in this case Travelconnections. The driver was from Cairo, not Alexandria, and needed to use his phone to navigate the streets, while driving. It was an older car, dirty windshield. I was the last person to arrive (late) due to meeting location uncertainty and was given the middle front seat, which had no leg room. A larger individual could not have made that work. The driver had hand-written notes about the two sites we visited.

Poor experience - When you book a tour that advertises a “guide,” you expect at least some commentary, insights, and facts about the city. Unfortunately, our “guide” — a friendly man from Cairo — spoke very little English and didn’t share any information about Alexandria or the sites we visited. I’ve had more engaging conversations with regular taxi drivers. The Alexandria National Museum was small and rather run-down. Nothing particularly memorable. Qaitbay Citadel, on the other hand, was a highlight. We were fortunate to meet a guard who kindly showed us around and made the visit worthwhile. We’ve had excellent experiences with Viator in the past, but this tour was a complete disappointment.

Very poor excursion - We were collected late in a shabby taxi. No air con, except opening a window, no water and a driver who could only say hello and good bye in English, anything else on translate on his phone. Collected at 8.00 first stop Alexandria museum, however this doesn’t open until 9.oo so sat in taxi for too long. Have used Viator before and it was excellent, but this was very poor.
