Great experience with Ahmed, these sites are not to be missed! - We loved this tour! Ahmed was an outstanding guide, very detailed and passionate. It almost felt like being in an Egyptology class with a great teacher. The sites are truly remarkable and atmospheric, and Ahmed always made sure we had enough time to properly explore and savour them after his explanations. He also explained his point of view on ancient technology, but always professionally, after illustrating the official research. He also helped us book two additional tours in Luxor on the spot. Finally, we had a delicious lunch.

The sites are remarkable, even more so with a great egyptologist like Ahmed! - We loved this tour! Ahmed was a superb guide, it was like being in an egyptology class with an excellent and passionate teacher! He was detailed, accurate and replied to all our questions. He always gave us enough time to enjoy the sights, so we never felt rushed. The sites we visited (especially the bent pyramid) are truly remarkable and atmospheric, and definitely better enjoyed with a guide who will be able to tell you all about why they were built and how. Ahmed also had his own (out there) theories about ancient technology, but kept it extremely professional by keeping his point of view separated by the "scientific" explanations. Also, Ahmed helped us arrange two additional tours in Luxor for the next couple of days on the spot. Finally, the lunch was delicious.

Recommended in Cairo - It was a great family experience, everything described in the tour was done, Hesham is a great guide, his Spanish is good and his explanations are full of history and great handling of the subject, I recommend this activity to know more about history and ancient culture. It's very good activity plus Hesham is a great photographer

Wonderful couple days with a guide that felt like a friend - I had such a great day in Giza with Ibrahim, I booked him for the next day even though social media tips said to try new guides. He was so great I couldn’t take the chance. I could tell he tailored the tour to my interests which I appreciated. He takes amazing pics too. Just felt like a conversation with a friend all day. Plus he took me to his favorite coffee shop which was cool. Thank you sir, I wish you were in all the other Egyptian towns I’ve been and am going to!

A GEM of a tour! - Brilliant day with GEM exploring the pyramids and Memphis museum. I’d visited the main Giza pyramids previously and was very pleased by how quiet and peaceful this tour was, and loved climbing inside the Painted and North pyramids in particular - although it’s quite tiring and a small space, not for the feint hearted! My guide Ibrahim was very knowledgeable and great fun to be with as a solo traveller, and Ahmed the driver provided countless ice cold waters from his cool box - much appreciated given how hot it was! The Kosahry for lunch was also delicious. Couldn’t recommend this tour more.

They were very kind and helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed... - We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, we visited Saqqara, Dahshour and Memphis. We had the opportunity to go inside the pyramids, which was an amazing experience. Our guide, Annan was very friendly and knowledgable. She told us all about the places we visited, as well as interesting facts about Egypt. She took us for an authentic Egyptian BBQ on a rooftop terrace with a view of the Giza pyramids. We travelled in an air conditioned car between attractions, and were regularly provided with ice cold water. It was a brilliant day, and we would definitely recommend this tour. Thank you Annan for making the experience so enjoyable.

A trip you can’t miss - This trip is not as popular as Giza Pyramids, but you should definitely take it if you want to see more history of pyramids. The trip offered it more than what I expected. Different stories and fantastic views. Much less crowded. For instance I explored the inside of the Bent Pyramid pretty much just myself alone and the experience was amazing when nobody was around. My guide Mina and driver Ahmed (Moza) is such a great team throughout the whole trip. Very punctual on time and very flexible. They offered accommodations for my requests. Mina certainly was one of the best guides among the six tours I had in Egypt. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Explained the history and culture in great details. Shared a lot of interesting stories and experiences. He helped me understand more about the Egyptian culture and history, which makes me want to come back again. Thank you Mina and Ahmed!

Absolutely amazing private tour of the first and the original pyramids site, with many more things to see and places to go - We went on this tour, myself and my husband, with Abraham and a driver. We were not expecting this private tour, we thought it would be a group tour, so this was a total bonus and surprise! We first went to Dashur, and I went into the red pyramid. It was about 50 steps up to the entrance, which wasn't too bad (and for me being an older asthmatic lady too😅) It was a gradual dissent of 140 wooden step bars, where you have to step on the edge of, and go backwards holding on to wooden rails stooping down, it was quite wide enough for two people, quite a bit easier than the great pyramid's descent. Once at the bottom, there was a wide room with a triangular roof, we were accompanied by a tiny bat or two, (the red pyramid is also called bat pyramid) There were also more stairs to go up, these were solid wooden ones to see something else, but I didn't go as I was quite happy with what I had seen. You could even see who had discovered the pyramids, British archaeologists, and the date they had written, which I have photographed. There were only four other people that went behind me, so hardly anybody at all. Seeing these sites for me was astounding and awe inspiring! These pyramids are world heritage site protected and of a major importance in Egypt's history and the first pyramids to be built, even before the great pyramid. We saw the Bent pyramid and the black pyramid as we were passing by in the car Ibrahim and our driver took us to the town of Memphis, originally called Mem, where we visited a museum that housed a giant statue of Rameses II and many other interesting artifacts, mostly outdoors, including a giant sphinx. Finally we visited a lovely restaurant where we were served pasta soup with pitta breads and six dips and sauces, chicken breast from a kebab stick, that we had requested, with rice and home made chips and finally a slice of melon, totally delicious 😋 Finally, after our beautiful meal, were driven back to the doorstep of our hotel Ibrahim was a conscientious, honest, safety driven, informative and all round amazing guide🤩 Our driver got us everywhere safely and in comfort, and was just the best driver we could have asked for! We asked that the air conditioning be switched on when we were too hot from climbing too much, and also for some water, when we stupidly forgot to bring some. Both guys gladly obliged at all the requests and questions were all answered to more than our satisfaction. I can highly recommend Ibraham and his company GEM for all your private tours and to be your guide.

Worth visiting and quieter than Giza - The Saqarra and Dahshur sites are well-worth a visit and are much quieter than the Giza pyramids. The location marketed as ‘Memphis’ was, aside from the very impressive statue of Rameses, pretty disappointing - perhaps it’s all relative and just a bit of an anticlimax after seeing the Red and Bent pyramids, but there was no old city and just what looked for all the world like a reclaim yard of random recovered artefacts set in concrete bases. Our guide didn’t seem to be especially knowledgeable, but that may have been due to the language barrier - it wasn’t easy to get an answer to any questions that I had. The restaurant at the end of the tour (rather than 2/3 of the way through, as per the itinerary) was absolutely dreadful. The pyramids and the Rameses statue are great and deserve 5 stars, but the limited tour guide knowledge, mis-represented ‘city’ of Memphis and terrible lunch mean that I couldn’t give this tour any more than a 3-star rating so as to advise others looking to book.
