Additional Information

The Montserrat Natural Park situates at a distance of 50 kilometers from Barcelona. We approach the park with the appealing and singular views offered by our fully-equipped private conveyance.

Our first stop in Montserrat’s Natural Park is the Benedictine Monastery, established in the 11th century. It constitutes the dwelling for Catalonia’s Patron Saint, The Black Madonna of Montserrat which stands as a potent symbol of unification and spirituality for the local inhabitants.

After touring the Monastery grounds, we ascend to the crest to relish the awe-inspiring vistas of the Natural Park and most of its surroundings.

During our hike, we tread the very trails utilized by the pilgrims centuries ago. We get enchanted by the intriguing flora and fauna of Montserrat and we also take singular routes where the rocky columns and gorges exhibit the mystery of the emerging water from the concealed and unexplored heart of the massif.

At the base in the Monastery again, we acquire some leisure time before our return journey to Barcelona.

Great trip, thanks Juan! - Thanks Juan (and Franc/o, Frank, sorry if typing the name incorrectly - for the other part of the group), for being our driver and excellent tour guide, was great! Oh and big plus for not nagging for a review like 90% companies/guides. Definately worth it.

Phenomenal - It was a very demanding hike, ideal for me. But you should have a certain level of basic fitness, otherwise it is too strenuous.

Wonderful experience! - Amazing trip! The hike and the views of the mountains is wonderful. Juan is an excellent tourguide. The hike is moderate to difficult due to the altitude.

A pleasant hike - At the meeting point, you get driven in a minibus straight to the monastery, where the tour begins. The first hour or so is spent in this area were the guide gives you the history and you can visit the basilica. The hike is a 5km loop which takes about 2hrs in total. 1 hour up and 1 hour down. It's quite easy, you don't need to be a hiker to do this. No walking boots or poles are necessary, trainers are fine. Just bring; a breathable t-shirt, a light jacket, some water and snacks. Our guide, Franco, was great. He was very pleasant, chatty and knowledgeable about the Monastery and rock formations. The tour is worth getting up early to avoid the crowds. When we got back to the minibus at 13:00hrs, the area was crazy busy!

Wonderful Tour - A beautiful morning trip to Montserrat. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The meeting point was conveniently located just a short walk Northeast of Plaça de Catalunya. I would happily do another tour with them.
