Great romantic day in Beijing - We had an amazing anniversary trip! Jenny was high energy and super knowledgeable. We had a lovely lunch and the winery was a fantastic way to wind down after a wonderful morning at a beautiful part of the wall.

Private Changyu Wine Tasting and Mu Tian Yu Great Wall Tour - Had a great tour with my Family. I’ve been to Beijing many times and toured many places there. But our tour guide Coco, gave me a different perspective of the sites we visited, which I greatly appreciate. I highly recommend Coco as the tour guide to look for.

Excellent Tour; Great Tour Guide - I can't see enough great things about this tour. Coco was fabulous! She was very friendly, knowledgeable and had great time management of the tour. The lunch was excellent! I was a solo, female American traveling and felt very welcome & safe! I would recommend anyone that enjoys great site seeing of the Wall and Wine!

Excellent day: we walked the Great Wall AND enjoyed great wine! - This was a truly excellent and totally unique tour, as it was the ONLY one I could find that not only went to The Great Wall, but also to the historic Changyu Winery, known for making some of China's best wines! Our lovely guide, Ju-An, and a driver picked us up at our hotel 8a.m., and we were driven in an excellent Buick SUV to the Mutianyu portion of the Great Wall, about 1.5 hours from downtown Beijing. We took the cable car up and down as they won't let anyone over 55 take the rope lift up or the fun toboggan down. :-( We then walked the Great Wall to Towers 14, 15, 16, and 17, where we climbed up the tiny stone stairwell to the top of the watch tower so we could survey our territory and make sure the invading Mongols were being kept at bay! LOL (Note: If you ever have a burning desire to feel Really Really Out Of Shape, take a tour of the Great Wall of China. LOL) My only regret was that it was over way too soon! The Great Wall is an amazing and extraordinary creation, visible from outer space, and absolutely one of the wonders of the man-made world that truly merits the term "awesome". It's something that loomed large in my "travel dreams" for over 40 years... so to actually see it snaking up and down in front of you, and zigzagging across the mountains and over the land into the horizon is wondrous... And like all great, good things, it was over way too fast... Ju-An then took us for a truly delicious Chinese lunch at an obviously popular "family-style" Chinese-only restaurant in a small, nearby town: A yummy hot cabbage dish with gloriously mouth-numbing Sichuan peppercorns, Beijing-style noodles with bean sprouts (which really Are different from Shanghai noodles!), totally wonderful braised green beans with diced pork, more Sichuan peppercorns and hot peppers, & delish, spicy "authentic" Kung Pao Chicken (which we Never order in USA Chinese restaurants LOL), served with wedges of a multi-layered hot pancake, and jasmine tea so intensely fragrant I wanted to wear it as perfume! Then it was time to drive to the truly surreal Changyu Wine Chateau: a huge, European, turreted castle built in the Chinese countryside in the 1860s, its vineyards produce some of China's finest wines! This was another one of the "Chinese-only" experiences I managed to find for my chef husband and I to do: there is NO signage in English at the winery (save for the museum exhibits), and NO ONE speaks English! Save for the handful of Presidents, photographs of whom are on display in their museum, we may have been their only Western visitors! We were gifted with little bottles of their brandy that we got to bottle ourselves & seal with a red velvet hammer, had a tour of the vineyards and grounds, their huge, deep-underground wine cellar, the castle, and museum, and then enjoyed a tasting of 4 of their wines. We opted to buy a couple of extra glasses of wine, bought 3 bottles (two of which came in numbered, wooden crates) to take home, and hung out with Ju-An in the Tasting Room until they turned off the lights! A GREAT day- and Highly recommended!
