Join our Basque culinary workshop to learn the art of making authentic pintxos and tapas from the Basque region. Guided by a local Basque cook, you’ll delve into the region’s unique ingredients and flavors, their origins, and the local custom of savoring these tasty treats.
Start off with an introduction from your guide and chef for the day, who will acquaint you with the ingredients integral to traditional northern Spanish gastronomy.
It’s now time to get hands-on. Under the careful supervision of the chef, you’ll mix, stir, cut and combine ingredients to prepare the dishes. Complement your cooking experience with a glass of wine from the open bar.
To conclude, witness your hard work take shape in the form of 4 unique pintxos plated for your indulgence. Enjoy tasting each, coupled with your wine. A bonus cheese and charcuterie board, and a dessert are added to ensure a full-course culinary experience.

Basque cooking in Bilbao - Had a great evening at Gastronomia Bilbao. Mikel takes us through the preparation of some pinxtos. He talks about his career and his passion for cooking in a fun way. Delicious wines are served while preparing and eating the dishes. We get the recipes to take home.

Worth repeating. If I ever visit Bilbao again I will definitely see if I can take another course/workshop. - It was very enjoyable and very educational. Mikel explained a lot and provided background information about the products used, very nice.

Must take this class in Bilbao!! - Book this class—you will not regret it! On a technical level, the chef has trained all over the world and is an excellent teacher. You’ll learn a lot, all the while feeling encouraged. I especially appreciated this because I’m not a very practiced cook.
It’s also FUN. The whole staff is great! Mikel, Josue, and Alex all made the experience wonderful. Great food, great wine, great vibes.

Highly recommend this class! - I highly recommend this class! We took this class at the end of our trip after sampling so many pinxtos across the Basque Region. Mikel taught us how to make some of our favorites including the Gilda and Cod Brandada along with some new ones. The host of the wine tasting, Alex, also stopped by to tell us about the wine we were drinking and we liked them both so much that we bought a bottle each to take home.
We will definitely take another class with Mikel if we are back in the area. A
For those who don't speak Basque or Spanish, Mikel's English is great so don't worry about a language barrier.

Pintxos explained - Very nice hands on cooking class in an easy atmosphere . Mikel the chef is really inspiring and enthusiastic and loves what he does. The results are great and you can easily repeat them at home. Wonderful experience

Just wow! - It was soooo beautiful and even though not everything was set up yet, we had so much fun and were able to learn a lot from the super friendly chef Mikel and really enjoy the evening. He put so much effort into it and gave us some tips and tricks. We were also able to enjoy the evening together at the table in a relaxed manner. A great concept that is indispensable when visiting Bilbao ❤️ thank you very much 🙏🏻
