Great quick tour! - We had a 7 hour layover in Cairo which is really only 4 1/2 if you count leaving and re-entry. We didn't want to sit for that long so we booked a individual, create your own tour. Ahmed was awesome! We were able to see the pyramids, the sphinx and a quick tour of the Egyptian Museum. Great choice!

A day that lived up to ALL my dreams of Egypt! - We just had the most amazing day with Ahmed! We were limited on time so our tour couldn't start until 11am (our flight landed late) and Ahmed was so communicative ahead of our trip to check in on the start time, where to meet, etc. It made things so easy and reassuring. He and the driver picked us up at our hotel by the airport and we headed to the pyramids. On the way there Ahmed shared so many interesting facts about both new and old Cairo, the history of the rulers, and talked about the many mosques in the city. We stopped to take a picture on the bridge of the Nile and he offered us cold water which was a huge relief on a hot August day. As we got closer to the pyramids Ahmed shifted to an incredibly detailed history of how and why the pyramids came to be - where the stones came from, why the entrances are located facing a certain direction, which rulers built which ones, etc. It was amazing that he had so much detailed information at the tip of his fingers. We got out and walked up to the largest pyramid and he told us about the size of the pyramid, how many stones it took to build it, and more. We declined to ride a camel, but he offered if we were interested. They drove us to a few different vantage points and Ahmed was a wonderful photographer offering to get shots of my husband and me together (which we never end up with when we travel usually). On multiple occasions during the day, Ahmed checked in to see if we needed anything - coffee, water, toilets. After the pyramids, we had lunch at a lovely local restaurant right across the street that was delicious, air-conditioned, and had a great view. Ahmed did a great job of letting us have our own time to just enjoy the trip, but he was only a wave away if we needed him. We also wanted to stop at the Egyptian Museum which still houses many of King Tut's treasures including his gold sarcophagus and gold burial mask among many other artifacts (eventually many of King Tut's treasures will be moved to the Grand Egyptian Museum which is not yet open but is slated to open late 2023). Ahmed warned us that the Egyptian Museum is not airconditioned (and it was WAY hotter there than at the Pyramids where we had a great breeze) but it was so worth the stop. Again Ahmed wowed us with his extensive knowledge whisking us through the large crowds right up to the front of the most impressive artifacts. We saw so many huge groups of 10-15 people with earphones listening to a guide who looked so miserable and we were so glad we had booked a private tour. At the end of the day, we returned to our hotel so grateful for the wonderful experience we had. If you are thinking of booking this customizable tour - do not hesitate. You will be so glad you did! Ahmed - thank you for a day we will remember forever!

Recommend!!!!! - My guide knew that I have issues with walking very far so there was also a driver to get us as close to possible to the sites. They both were very friendly. My guide went above and beyond to let me taste local food and we went very early in the morning to avoid crowds at my request. Excellent people that I liked just as much as the experience of seeing the sites!
