Used as a burial chamber for nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, the Valley of the Kings was used for royal burials for the Kings, their families, and their possessions. In 1979, it became a World Heritage Site, as well as the rest of the Theban Necropolis.
The Valley of the Kings is located on the west bank of the Nile River near Luxor. It is the most famous site for having unique collections of tombs and breathtaking ancient ruins. That location makes it one of the hottest spots for exploring ancient Egyptian history.

Luxor tour - Victor met me at my hotel with our driver for the day perfectly on time. He took care of everything, no ticket queues, hassles by sellers, all tranquil. He is a very nice, super knowledgeable, charming and agreeable guide, (perfect English). I feel I only scratched the surface of both the ancient sites in Luxor and his increadible historical knowledge. What a great story teller! We did three sites in a day, Karnak, Valley of the kings and the Luxor temple. I did not leave until 2pm the next day and in hindsight I would have split it to do Luxor temple in the morning of my last day, three sites is a lot to take in, in a day! I’m coming back with my kids and we’ll definitely use this company and Victor again. That’s the highest recommendation I can give 😊 Ll

Beautiful and clean city with amazing historic sights - We took this tour on 5 January 2022, it was a nice sunny day in Luxor. Well, first we took an early morning flight from Cairo, and before that a transfer from our hotel to the airport, so we woke up really early that day. But all went smoothly, both flight there and back were on time. Our guide and driver were waiting for us at the airport. We loved Luxor – it’s so much quitter and cleaner than Cairo is. They drive normally in that city, and almost respect the rules 😊 That was our first impression of the city. And then, of course, it’s like an open-air museum, with so many great monuments to offer, and most of them are very well preserved and restored. The guide who worked with us is actually is also a professional archeologist, and he told us many interesting information about the missions he took part in. As we hadn’t had any breakfast before coming to Luxor, they took us to McDonalds, and that was the one with a view, as it’s right in front of the Luxor Temple, which was our first stop. We also visited the Karnak Temple, the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, the Valley of the Kings (just wow) and the Colossi of Memnon. At some point they brought us to an alabaster shop where they make some kind of “show” for tourists and then you are expected to buy some souvenirs – that’s not my kind of things, but you can just skip it if you don’t want to go there. The lunch was included in the tour, and we had it in a tourist restaurant Isis – the food was OK, and as always, you can have a very tasty fresh juices (mango, guava… - at supplement). Before going to the airport, we had like 20 minutes to go to the embankment – the Cornish as they call it. It was such a lovely evening, we thought it would be nice to get back to Luxor and spend some more time there, as it has so many sights to offer. But even though before booking this tour we were hesitating that it would be too short time and too tiresome to go there from Cairo and back on the same day, in the result it all went very well, and we really enjoyed the tour. P.S. I found Deluxe Tours Egypt on TripAdvisor, as well as some other agencies with good reviews. I messaged several of them, and I chose this one, because they answered quite fast, gave me good prices and answered all my numerous questions. Then we booked 2 tours with them, paid a deposit in advance online and the balance payment – cash after the 2nd tour. All was fair, as we had agreed. We also met the owner – George, and he’s a very kind person. Our experience with Deluxe Tours Egypt was very good, and we recommend this agency as a reliable and professional company.

Memorable pharaohs - Luxor is home to the great Karnak and Luxor temples, Queen Hatshepsut temple, and the Kings’ valley, where archeologists found antique pharaohs’ tombs (My favorite place in all Egypt). To get the most out of your experience, I highly recommend having a great tour guide, like Victor. His knowledge about Egyptian culture and storytelling skills transported us to ancient times; Also, his structure and kindness made our travel memorable. Luxor must be on your Egypt to-do list!

Extraordinary - We were a very big group of friends and couples, (28 people) and the tour was perfect for all of us. The tour guide, Victor, was amazing!! He was able to give all of the explanations and maintained the 28 people engaged. He was always careful to keep us all together, on time to each location and was aware that the COVID restrictions were followed. It was an incredible experience and extremely comfortable, everything was taken care of by the tour. There is nothing that I would change, the locations that we visited are the most important and shocking to see and learn from!
