Great guide and great tour - Mo was a great tour guide for the Museum of Egyptian Civilisation. he guided us through the main exhibition and provided great info on each exhibit. We had a great day getting to and from the museum through Cairo and Mo also took us to a jeweller where we had some cartouche necklaces made. Thanks Mo for a great day. Highly recommend this tour

NMEC guided tour. - Ahmed was an excellent tour guide and our driver navigated the traffic beautifully. (Experiencing the traffic in Cairo is pretty incredible in itself!)

Day around Cairo - The tour was very entertaining. Boogie was very nice and helpful. We saw the National Egyptian civilization museum, then went over to old Cairo to admire a beautiful catholic church. From there lunch then the grand Bazaar. All in all a good day!

What a wonderful tour! - What an amazing tour! We came to Cairo a few days ahead of a Viking Nile River Cruise and wanted to see the royal mummies at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. We booked the tour well before our arrival. Besides the email confirmation we received an introductory text via WhatsApp. We also received a second text the day before our tour (communication was superb). Boogie and Haitham were our driver and tour guide. They picked us up promptly at our hotel and off we went. The museum itself is not large (its purpose is to house the mummies). We had a well-informed tour of the first floor (there are some amazing artifacts there) and then we had ample time to view the mummies (tour guides are not permitted). After the museum we had a quick stop by a papyrus museum, which was highly informative too. If we had more time we'd book additional tours with Boogie and Haitham. We can not recommend them highly enough.

Recommended Tour to Civilization museum - Our tour guide, Hala, from Egypt Royal Tours took her time in explaining Egyptian history before we went into the museum. This made everything so much easier to understand while viewing the exhibits. The best part of the museum was the Royal Mummy Hall.

National Museum Visit - We went to the National Museum recommended by our amazing tour guide Amira. We got to see mummies and it was an amazing experience!! (our favourite part in the museum). We learned some background history thanks to our guide which made it easier to understand what we were seeing during our museum visit.

Terrible Tour - Take an Uber and do it Yourself Instead! - This was a poor tour with Egypt Royal Tours to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. The Museum itself is splendid; however, the tour experience was very lacking. Our guide was SugarQ, and her version of the tour consisted of a beverage at the cafe along with a 5-10 minute overview of Egyptian history/culture. After that, she expected everyone to do a self tour - she wasn't even planning to enter the exhibit section with us. Mind you, there were many other tour guides giving insightful information to their own tour parties inside the upper level of the museum (you can't talk much or take pictures in the lower level where the mummies are). It took some convincing to get SugarQ to come in with us for a bit. She came in begrudgingly and we were provided with lackluster and uninspired explanations of a few exhibits. Tip - As many of the exhibits at the NMEC are well explained albeit lightly, and a PROFESSIONAL guide could certainly enlighten the experience, one should consider taking an Uber and doing it yourself. A good 3-4 hours should do it as there arent that many exhibits there.
