We can also visit the Count’s castle (entrance fee 9 euros 50 /person) to discover its defensive system, its keep and its lapidary museum or evoke it from the outside. Fun and Interesting! Would definitely do again! - We weren't sure what to expect other than an old fort and references to knights. We were so mistaken! Not only was there so much to see in the old town, from stone ramparts to restaurants to sword shops, but Anne was a superb tour guide! She was knowledgeable and full of interesting information about Carcassonne across the ages. She shared facts and humor across English and French (she also speaks Spanish), and was happy to focus on the parts that interested us. She also offered suggestions on restaurants and bars. She even helped us discuss sword construction with one of the shop owners. In short, she was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible for us. We definitely want to come back, and highly recommend Anne as a guide!

Best way to learn the city's history - This was a lovely tour. We'd done the audio tours in the castle, but the information provided by our guide was far more comprehensive and enlightening. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to know the vast history of the city and surrounding area.

Wonderful guide and wonderful tour - Anna was a great guide. There are so many small architectural and historical details about La Cite that absolutely necessitates a tour. We learned so much and had a lot of fun. Anna was also great with our 8 year old boy. Very interactive. Definitely worth it.

Great walking tour, so worth it. - Excellently narrated and fun walking tour today with Anna. Our group of four learned so much about Carcassonne and it’s walled city. Anna was informative, fun and took us around at a nice pace. We all said we would highly recommend Anna as a guide.

A Magical Hilltop Town both during the day and at night. - Private Tour with an English Speaking Guide in Carcassonne.
The guide shared some history of Carcassonne as well as covering most all of the buildings inside the walled town.
It is a magical old town on top of a hill.

Great introduction to historic Carcassonne - Thoroughly enjoyed hearing the history of Carcassonne from the 3rd Century AD right through to renovation in the 19th century, as well as the history of the whole region through the ages. Information was delivered during a gentle 90 minute stroll around much of the walls and streets of the city.
Our guide, Remi, even gave us some information on what had gone on here in World War II.
A very good introduction to the City of Carcassonne.
