Established in 1868 with a gift of four swans from New York’s Central Park, The Lincoln Park Zoo has evolved into a 35-acre establishment that houses 200 species from across the globe. Home to a collection of over 1,100 animals, the zoo is also involved in programs centered around conservation, education, and protection of these species. Each December, thousands of visitors flock to the ZooLights event, a festive holiday experience that illuminates the zoo at night. All of this is located just a few miles from downtown Chicago.
Our scavenger hunt includes eight engaging tasks that cover all corners of the zoo, such as the Nature Boardwalk and Farm-in-the-Zoo. Certain tasks will involve photography, so make sure to post these pictures - and any others you capture during your visit - on social media using the hashtag #LPZooScavHunt. Also, remember to tag us at @eATLAS!
The zoo is accessible all year round, opening at 8 AM and closing at 5 PM on weekdays, with extended hours to 7 PM on holidays. Admission is always free.
