The food is delicious — but just the beginning - Erol was the most amazing guide. The tour was advertised as been for small groups only, but we got lucky enough to be the only two on the tour. We started on the European side, where we wandered through the spice market and then ate börek at a small cafe. We then took the ferry to the Asian side, where we spent most of time. Wandering through Kadikoy we tried Turkish coffee, balli yogurt, pickled vegetables, menemen, kokoretto, lahmacun and katmer. Most of these were foods I wouldn’t have known to try, and all were delicious. By no means should you have breakfast before going on this tour! Often times the food was a jumping off point for learning about the history and culture of Istanbul and Türkiye. I can’t believe how much we learned in four and a half hours.

FANTASTIC - This is an amazing experience that I can’t recommend enough. It was my first time doing a culinary walking tour and now I want to do one in every city I visit. Erol was fantastic, his knowledge of the city made this a complete experience, not only for the food but also the history, the colors and the magic of the city. We will come back to Istanbul and hopefully we’ll have Erol again to guide us again!

Fabulous Foodie Tour with Gamze ☺️ - What a brilliant start to our Istanbul trip. 6 of us (ladies of a certain age) met Gamze who was the friendliest guide ever, lots of laughs alongside learning interesting historic facts enroute, whilst enjoying a wide variety of tasty foods, both savoury and sweet. Absolutely recommend Gamze, I’m sure she’d be great fun on any trip! Fantastic.
