Highlights
  • Florence - Pick-up from our meeting point.

  • Azienda Agricola Col Di Lamo - Col di Lamo extends over 40 hectares on the westhern slopes of Montalcino. 13 hectares are vineyards dedicated to the cultivation of Sangiovese Grosso, the vines which produce Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. The composition of the soil, containing limestone clay and sand, is rich and even. The cultivation methods are based on organic principles.

  • AZIENDA AGRICOLA VILLA I CIPRESSI - The farm started to produce honey of various flavors about 30 years ago. Later in the nineties they began to plant vineyards and some olive trees. The farm produces now Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino, Grappa di Brunello, extra virgin olive oil and honey. The passion for nature and the strong ecological mind have pushed them to use only photovoltaic energy, and to produce only with the principles of organic agriculture.

Villa i Cipressi started to produce Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino in the year 2000. The winery has 3.5 hectares of Sangiovese vines at two locations. The two vineyards, distinct in soil and in microclimate, allow for a blend which enriches the quality of the wine. The estate produces Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino and a selection line called ZEBRAS, which is produced and marketed only in the best years. The Zebras is a selection of the best grapes from the best vineyard and ages 6 months more than the regular vintage Brunello.

Bellissimo! - My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Florence last summer. We had an amazing trip but the highlight was our tour of the wineries in and around Montalcino. Angel was our guide and driver and he was a delight -- knowledgeable, friendly and we felt very safe as he drove us through the Italian countryside. We sampled Brunellos as well as Rosso di Montalcinos, another wine made from the local Sangiovese grapes, at two wineries, Mastro Janni and Tenuta Fanti, where we also had an absolutely spectacular meal. In addition to wine, Fanti also makes a variety of olive oils so we sampled those as well with their delicious anti-pastas. Having a guide for this sort of thing is essential and we couldn't have been happier with Angel, who we will definitely call up for another swing through the vineyards of Tuscany on our next visit.

Brunello Tour with the Expert! - If you do any tour absolutely select this! My husband and I have done wine tours all over the world and this was truly amazing. Angel is not only a wealth of knowledge and made sure we visited local wineries more off the beaten path, but was kind and a treasure to get to know. Bonus, one of our favorite meals was the lunch he set up during the tour. You really will not regret booking this tour, promise!!!

Paola is the ultimate guide - The wine was good, the views were great, but Paola was an outstanding guide. I would take a tour of a brick wall if she were speaking about it.

Book this tour! - Book this tour! My wife and I visited Italy for our honeymoon and always knew we wanted to venture into Tuscany. We booked this tour not knowing what to expect and it turned out to be our favorite day of our 2-week honeymoon. Angel was our guide and is also the owner of the company. His knowledge of wine is unbelievable but he was so much more than a guide. He was friendly, welcoming, and a real joy to spend time with. We visited two wineries in Montalcino and were given private tours at each. The wineries themselves were fantastic and we bought several bottles of wine to ship home. Do yourself a favor and book this tour. Thank you Angel for helping make our trip so enjoyable!

Brunello di Montalcino-Enotropea - Fabio from Enotropea (spelling?) Tours was great! His enthusiasm and love for history was contagious! Perfect small group tour (turned out to be private for us). Davio from Villa I Cipressi was a kind, passionate winemaker with well-maintained and clean property - truly peaceful and special for us. Tomasino was 24th generation and very cool guy. The castle was beautiful and picturesque. Our stop to Pienza was memorable too, love scenic views and minimal crowds (more personable). Grazie to all, Brunello Di Montalcino Tour was an amazing one!
