Fantastic! Just book it! - The best part of the trip was the walk to the waterfall and the great conversations I had with Johnny. He is kind and caring and fullnof life. He is great at sharing his energy and positivity. I had such a fun time and highly recommend this curated tour.

A VERY SPECIAL EXPERIENCE - Firstly, Johnny is a kind, caring, funny and generally wonderfully amazing human. I had THE BEST time on my personalized private tour. He took me to places most tourists would never be able to see. It was truly special and he is incredibly knowledgeable about the region's culture and history. This tour made my whole trip worthwhile. JUST BOOK WITH JOHNNY!!!

Wonderful beautiful day in Lake Kawaguchiko - We had such an amazing time with Johnny! He was friendly, knowledgeable and easy to be with the whole time. He took us to some Absolutely beautiful spots in the area which were less crowded - which is due to his knowledge of the area and desire to give the best experience possible- and really listened to our intererests! So much better and worthwhile than a generic bus tour or wandering around ourselves not knowing where to go!! We had an absolutely fantastic day and learned so much about the area with Johnny. This tour gets our highest recommendation! One of the best things we did on our trip.!

Johnny Rocks - Johnny was a pleasure. Gave us a great tour. Very flexible and helpful, especially with my elder mother-in-law. Great lunch stop with some very delicious authentic local ramen. Book his tour, you won’t be disappointed.

Stop looking! Book now. You will not regret it. - Without a doubt one of our favourite cities and days in our entire Japan trip! YOU NEED TO BOOK JOHNNY ASAP, best decision we made. A solid 10! The communication leading up to our trip was outstanding. Johnny was prompt and attentive to all our questions. Even the day before he reached out to ask if we wanted to shuffle our tour at all because the day we had booked was supposed to snow. We even had the option to cancel free of charge. He was extremely accommodating and flexible. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Johnny. We were starving when we arrived since we missed breakfast so he took us to the cutest little authentic Noodle restaurant where we sat on the floor around a huge communal table. Although it snowed, Johnny kept us busy and entertained. He had such a warm personality and was a highly motivated guide. It was such a nice way to “let go” of the itinerary and be taken care of. He also doubled as our photographer 😊 We weren’t ready for the night to end so when he suggested we grab dinner later that evening we couldn’t resist. He definitely treated us to the Canadian special. Many thanks to his lovely wife who picked us hooligans up at the end of the evening too. All respect for johnny who does a great job there; a true sample of excellent tour guide! Many thanks again and I recommend Johnny to everyone! We can’t wait to come back and hopefully we’ll see him close to home soon too.

Unforgettable and amazing experience - We spent an unforgettable day exploring Mt. Fuji's hidden gems with Johnny from Kawaguchiko Tours! From shrines to scenic parks, every moment was pure magic. When we got hungry, Johnny took us to savour the best Tsukemen noodles at Jyajyauma and followed this up with a visit to Lake Kawaguchiko gem museum to indulged our son's love for crystals. Thanks to Johnny's expertise, we enjoyed Fuji's beauty minus the crowds!

One of the most memorable tours of my life! - 10/10! We started planning this tour and communicated with Johnny for a few months. He was able to accommodate 4 of us (we are bigger guys) with 2 separate cars. (Thank you Mayuka for driving again!) He spoke perfect English (obviously for being a Canadian!) and took us to a customized tour for our needs. I personally requested a location for my marriage proposal and he ended up giving me a few spots, we did end up being spontaneous in another spot in a funny way, all worked out in the end! Johnny took us to a few spots plus secret spots in the area. He also gave us enough private time strolling by ourselves. A few snacks and a very delicious lunch spot! Overall, very satisfied and I’d totally recommend him to all my friends and family in the future! Thank you Johnny & Mayuka!

Fabulous Fuji’s secret photo spots with the best private guide. - My daughter and I had the best day with Johnny. We communicated in advance via WhatsApp about itinerary and travel plans but beyond one daft thing that my daughter had seen on social media and wanted including (not out of the way at all), we left ourselves totally in Johnny’s hands. He collected us from the train station in his Nissan Cube and drove us for 6 hours around all the local temples and secret photo spots. He gave us interesting insights into the local area and taught us temple etiquette (it was our first full day in Japan and it came in handy for subsequent visits!) Johnny even took us to a local noodle joint for lunch. It was absolutely delicious and became a benchmark for price and quality for the remainder of our meals in Japan. Johnny was polite and courteous and a pleasure to hang out with for the day. He speaks perfect English, which isn’t surprising as a native speaker from his time in Canada, but he has the knowledge and experience of a local which he used to good effect on our tour. Johnny dropped us back at the station in plenty of time for our return train to Tokyo. Johnny took photos of us all day long and sent the link with the photos before we’d even made it back to our hotel. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Excellent value for money for a full day’s touring. We will be coming back with the rest of the family.

Best Fuji Trip Ever! - We loved participating in Johnny’s private day tour January 2024. We don’t have enough positive words for our experience with Johnny! He customized our tour based on our interests and created a magical day around Mt. Fuji. The day started with a view of a pagoda and Mt. Fuji, we then had a mochi snack and took a street view photo of Mt. Fuji. We visited the famous ponds village, Mt. Fuji shrine, and ate some delicious dipping ramen. Johnny took us to a secret spot for a breathtaking and unobstructed view of mt. Fuji, then hiked to a frozen waterfall, and had some incredible ice cream. We then went to the local forest where we saw the Dragon cave. The walk through the forest was so peaceful, you heard nothing but the sounds of the birds. The dragon cave is a spiritual cave where locals come to give their gratitude to Mother Nature. The tour ended with the ice cave; which was a climb down into a cave with frozen iceicles. We finished the day with Johnny dropping us off at a local onsen, where my partner and I were able to arrange a same day private onsen with a view of Mt. Fuji. Johnny was nice enough to pick us up afterwards before our bus back to Tokyo and dropped us off at our station. It has always been a dream of mine to see Mt. Fuji and Johnny made the day more magical than I had imaged. I would 100% book with his tour company again when in the Mt. Fuji area.
