The museum houses a rare collection spanning 5,000 years of art, regarded as the world’s largest and most valuable collection of Egyptian art. Over 250,000 authentic artifacts are on display, including a special exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamen’s treasures, gold, and jewelry, which remained sealed in his tomb for over 3,500 years until its discovery in 1920 AD in the Valley of the Kings.

This citadel was constructed by the renowned warrior Saladin in 1182 AD as the seat of the Ayubid family’s rule. The Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha was built atop the Citadel by a Turkish architect in 1848 AD as a demonstration of Muhammad Ali’s power and wealth against the Ottoman sultan’s authority.
