Additional Information

Discover the Grand Canyon through the lens of biblical creation with Canyon Ministries.

We meet within the park, by the flag pole at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, approximately four hours before sunset. Our Sunset Rim Tour takes you to the finest spots on the eastern side of the South Rim. En route on Desert View Drive, you’ll travel with ease in our comfortable tour vehicle, stopping at each spectacular viewing point.

At each destination, we disembark from the vehicle to soak in the stunning scenery, engage in exploration, and partake in insightful teachings that tie into what we observe around us.

Throughout the journey, your tour guide will share insights about the canyon’s geology, flora and fauna, human history, and importantly, the biblical account of Creation and the Flood as detailed in the book of Genesis. We culminate the tour by appreciating the handiwork of the Creator during a breathtaking sunset over the rim in the distant west.

A terrific tour based on Biblical fact! - The entire experience was wonderful! Our group bonded because Bob was such a great tour guide. The biblical perspective was spot on! Followed the teaching of the Bible & honestly common sense & gravity. Sunset was windy, but beautiful! The few minutes sitting there are emblazoned in my mind & heart! God truly created a beautiful world & this wonder of the Grand Canyon is not to be missed!

Schönheit schafft Ehrfurcht - A very scientifically sound tour that provides an alternative view of the history of the GC and is not just for tourism.

We enjoyed the tour and it was the highlight of our trip. - Eddie was our tour guide and did a phenomenal job explaining the Biblical version of the formation of the canyon. The visited sites were beautiful and the guide explained in detail how the canyon was created by a sudden, short catastrophic event rather than a lengthy erosion from the river. This explanation fit into our beliefs. Thank you for a great time!

Excellent! Highly recommend! - Our sunset tour was excellent. Our tour guide, Luke, was personable, considerate, and knowledgeable. He asked questions to help us make observations from which he guided us to consider the implications and taught about the geology of the canyon and how it was likely formed. He tied our observations and deductions to the Flood account. Luke informed us about rock layers, plants, and wildlife. He encouraged discussion and took time to answer questions. At the beginning, all who wanted to shared their salvation testimonies, which quickly gave us more social connection to enjoy for the rest of the tour. Luke inserted a few devotional applications from Bible passages tied to the immediate discussion. The hike itself was conducted in segments and all on the rim trail, so it was paved and relatively level, with only a couple of excursions stepping over large border rocks to step out onto an outcropping, so it is very doable. I highly recommend it.

Awesome tour - The views were amazing. The tour guide was great! She gave us plenty of time at all the stops to take pictures and explain the process of how the canyon layers were formed.

Had a blast! - My friend and I had an absolute blast on this trip getting to experience the Grand Canyon from a Christian perspective with likeminded Believers. Our tour guide, Eddy, was very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job of answering questions but also of facilitating discussion within our group. He definitely left us with a lot to think about! 20/10 would go again!
