Perfect for historical knowledge and experience - The city has such a rich history that is thoroughly explained and highlighted all throughout the tour. There is an app for English speakers to listen to as they take the tour. The app was a bit out of order, but easy enough to navigate. They offer inside seating or up on the back deck. Overall, it was the highlight of my time in Hamburg during a day stop on a cruise. Lovely walk from the cruise terminal to get to the port, with a stroll through the city's famous tunnel. I was also able to visit some of the places that we visited while in the harbor.

Fun experience but only in German - The narrator was very entertaining. The narration was in German though so one person in their group had difficulty understanding. There was an app to download to get it in English but we didn't have time to do that before we left on the trip.

A great way to get a feel of this great city - Despite the November weather, we had a great time. The ferry was warm, and the large windows allowed an excellent view. The English audio tour was inevitably more limited than the live one (in German) as, being pre-recorded, it could not react to the current events - the particular ships on the water etc.
I should perhaps have realised how huge the harbour was. This was an excellent introduction to Hamburg

Met friends there. Had a... - Met friends there. Had a snack and drink some German beer. It was located in a cool spot, lots of people riding the popular boats

English Tour Given in Germany - I would give 5 stars but the tour I booked was supposed to be on English, and the host could speak English, but he chose not to speak English because it is harder for him. So the sights were lovely but we understood nothing.

Not the best! - Odd tour all the way around. Started with confusion with the staff on where it started. “Brucke 7. No Brucke 1. No it’s Brucke 7.” In the end we went to Brucke 1 - like it told us on the email and got on a boat. It ended up being the right boat for the 1:30 tour and we left at 1:02! Once we got on, everyone else on the boat had been offered beverages. No one offered us any.
As for the actual tour, it needed more time near the HafenCity for me. It spent about 10-15 minutes in that area and the rest of it was about shipping and industry. Odd. Strange. Ok.

We did not enjoy this tour. - The cruise is not on the boat that is pictured. Rather, it is a fairly small boat and there is not much room for people to sit on top, so most people had to sit inside. There were so many people inside that we were not able to sit by a window, giving us an extremely limited view of what was going on outside. It was extremely hot inside the boat. We believed this to be an English-speaking cruise - rather, the guide speaks entirely in German. Once we were on the boat and read the fine print, we discovered that you can get everything in English, but you have to download an app. We would not have booked this tour had we realized that. When we arrived at the dock, we stopped at several tour desks to see which dock to go to - everyone we spoke to had difficulty finding that information from the email that was sent. Unfortunately, we just did not enjoy this harbor tour.

very loud and unprofessional experience - If you want to go on a booze cruise that is loud and obnoxious with dogs barking, people playing music while the host attempts to describe key findings, this is the event for you! We were given headset for English but could not hear over all the loud noises. We requested a refund without success. Buyer beware, especially if you want to actually hear the tour guide and learn something about Hamburg.
