Great tour for German-speaking guests, not so much for English speakers - The design of the tour is great! It covers most attractions at the city center. Our guide is very knowledgeable and fun as well. He brought us Leibniz biscuits to taste on the tour. However, the tour is conducted in German. The guide would catch up very briefly the content in English while walking towards the next atrraction. If I didn't use real-time Google translator, I would miss most of what he said.

Recommended - The tour was great. Bi-lingual guide was very nice and was able to pay equal attention to German and English speaking tourists. We learned a lot of historical facts.

Red Thread self guided walking tour - There is a Red Thread self led tour you can do by following the red line painted on the pavement starting from the Information Centre in the main square outside the Hauptbahnhof. You can buy a guide for the walk for €3.50 in the Info Centre. The walk is about 4kms long. It’s definitely the way to see Hanover if you’re fit and mobile. It visited all the areas we wanted to see, at our own pace.

Informative tour - The tour is really informative and our tour guide very good. We learnt many things about the city and it's people. The only fault I would state was that it was hard with it being spoken in first German then English. Hard for the guide tell the same story twice.

Good tour—if you speak German. - I booked this tour after the Viator site stated that it would be an English tour. However, out of 22 participants, I was the only English speaker. Therefore, naturally, 80% or more of the tour was in German. The tour guide tried to include some English just for me, but she had to do the vast majority of the explanations in the German language. It seemed like a great tour, but I was unable to understand much of it.

Very superficial - I wasn't prepared for that. What I experienced was not a city tour. A city walk apparently only means a few thin anecdotes. The guide offered hardly anything informative and certainly no reliable facts; some of it was demonstrably wrong, as I was able to find out later by googling. Overall, it was extremely superficial. What is the content? What is interesting? I couldn't find out. But there was a lot of fiddling around. A few chauvinistic puns here, a bit of joking around there. A few guests dutifully played along. But then the comment that stolen bikes would now be in Poland was questionable. That's not acceptable! Visit-hannover.com would do well to check whether a quality promise can be kept. Given the other positive reviews, today's tour seems to have been more of an exception. That would be to be hoped for.

Not good - Advertised as suitable for English speakers. The guide then announced that he would do it in German as he could tell us more. Shame we couldn't understand most of it. Luckily for us another customer translated bits. Basically an hour long walk with more than 20 other non English speakers. Probably not worth the money if you can't speak German.

Not as advertised - The tour is sold as bi-lingual and we specified English as our language on the booking form. The guide did not speak English and it was left to another paying customer to translate the significant parts of the tour. Definitely not as advertised.
