Wayamba, a province in Sri Lanka, serves as a lesser-known destination for tourists, carrying with it history from the 12th to 14th Centuries. The entire province showcases a unique blend of history and nature, anchored in coconut paddy cultivation. Kurunegala, the chief city of the Wayamba province, once served as an ancient royal capital. This city is beautifully adorned with coconut plantations and is encompassed by eight significant rock formations that lend it a majestic aura. Tour participants can look forward to visiting the ‘Elephant Rock’, also known as Ethagala, from which Kurunegala derives its name. Additional points of interest include three archaeological cities, a 12th-century moated palace, monastic ruins, and a place known as the Silver Village.
