- Mysuru Palace - The Palace was built in 1912, at a cost of Rs.41.50 lakhs in the Indo-Saracenic style, a combination of Hindu and Saracenic features. The construction of the new palace was started in 1897, after the old wooden palace was caught in an accidental fire. Henry Irwin was the architect, and E.W. Fritchley worked as a consulting Engineer. The elevation is composed of intricately detailed and variegated elements - a profusion of rounded and slightly carved arches, canopies, slender columned colonnades, some with Hindu features in Rajput style, the intricately executed multiple mouldings, marble architraves, stained glass pavilion, durbar halls, panels, fine carvings of birds, foliage, animals in Hoysala style. It is closed only one day of the year, i.e., on the day of the Dussehra Procession. Timings: Daily 10 am to 5.30 pm.

Mysore a Turquise Palace - Visited Mysore on a single tour organised by Delhi airport Services. Tour started early morning with car pickup in Bangalore. After 3 h drive arrive to Mysore and met with tour guide in English. He guided me through the gates of majestic and continue with an interesting description of the impressive Mysore palace. Built in early XX, with a beautiful info-sarraceno architecture is distinguished by its beautiful Turquise painted columns, admire is decadent and impressive decorated rooms and patios. A must in your trip to Karnataka region. Finishing visit with a visit to colorful flower and fruits market. An enchanting place. Day ended with a rainbow in the sky. Thanks to Delhi airport services for a great day.
