To try... And to do again! - Exceptional experience, we tasted wines and products produced by the farm... Truly excellent! The wines are the result of a careful production choice of the estate and represent the territory excellently, with the addition of a modern and truly delicate point of view. The meats and cheeses offered... Truly delicious! Thanks to Valentina for the knowledgeable and expert guidance along the way! Highly recommended.

unique wine tasting at Forte Benedek - We picked this wine tasting out of all the others available in the region because the Austrian fort sounded like a unique part of the experience and it certainly delivered! We were coming from Malcesine and missed the connecting bus from Garda to Pastrengo, so had to get a taxi, but the venue was easy to spot from the road and with bus stop just outside it was very easy to catch the bus back. On arrival, we were directed to the reception in the adjacent modern hotel building to sign in. Then we were shown to the fort and given a tour, showing us the points of interest, the fabulous view from the roof, some local history, and some information about the company and wine production. We were given six different wines to sample, poured for us one at a time with tasting notes and information about how the wine was produced. In between the wines we were given food including homemade focaccia with olive oil, a selection of cheeses, salamis and prosciutto, and two delicious chutneys. All the produce was local and most of it produced by the company which was fantastic. The wine samples were the equivalent of a small glass of each variety, which I thought was quite generous. There was plenty of food so we didn't need to buy lunch afterwards. Most importantly, everything was delicious! We were very lucky and were the only people on the wine tasting when we went for the late-morning timeslot. Our guide Valentina was very knowledgeable and very happy to answer all our questions, but also unintrusive, letting us enjoy the food and wine together and chat privately, which was lovely for us as a couple. We liked the wine so much we bought two bottles to take home with us, as well as a jar of chutney. Afterwards, we were allowed to go back to the roof to take some photos privately before we left. Overall this was an excellent experience, very professionally put together, very welcoming, informative, and most importantly fun! I would heartily recommend this to anyone considering a wine tasting experience in the area. (The adjacent hotel was very modern and the facilities looked lovely from what we saw, so if we returned we would seriously consider staying there, although Pastrengo was perhaps a little out of the way.)

“The soft sound of a cork being popped from the bottle has the sound of a man opening his heart.” - A fort made of local stones and marbles awaits you with open doors. Its cloak is white, ivory, shades of pink, but inside the hard stone a brick heart draws arches, rooms and fire pits. There is no trace of the cannons, except in the guide's story, instead the tasting room awaits you: ready your glasses to begin a journey that takes us to discover the flavours, wines, cured meats and cheeses of a local farm. Spectacular guide Valentina accompanies us from the walls and the historical deeds to the vineyards, the winemaking method, and the flavors that appear on the palate little by little in the order stated. Excellent wines, excellent accompaniment to focaccias, cheeses and cured meats, but above all excellent Valentina: with passion she accompanies us in this experience making it even more magical. Highly recommended!!

Good wine, good food, needs more explanation - Wine and food (cheese, salami, fresh focaccia) were really good and interesting, but didn’t go into further depth about the wine making, or how the foods were prepared. We love wine and fine food but not just to eat, but also to hear about how it is made. Their cheese and salami selection was HUGE almost not able to finish it. From that pov it was worth the money.

Alternative tasting - We reached the location with some difficulty as it was not well marked by signs or signs (look for a brown iron gate with two eagles engraved on it, there is the same pedestrian gate right above the bus stop). Once we arrived, we found a very beautiful and welcoming location. The tasting itself unfortunately had some flaws, because, although Joseph or Beppo (who found himself replacing the colleague designated for this purpose who was absent that day) worked hard to provide us with as much information as possible, it was not an in-depth and detailed tasting as we expected and that reflected the price paid. However, the products, from the 6 wines tasted to the focaccia and platter offered, were of excellent quality.
