Good trip! - Our tour guide, Adriana, was exceptional and rolled with the punches. She took us to places that we had wanted to go, not necessarily on the typical tourist agenda. Would highly recommend her/the trip.

It is what you make it. Having the best guide in all of Mexico helps too! - First things first. Gerardo (Jerry) our guide was incredible. He made the excursion a huge success. Super props to Jerry!!! 10 out of 10 stars!! Booking was easy and instructions were clear and easy to follow. We went from the port to the Meeting place without issue. It took 5 minutes to get there. Jerry was there early waiting for us when we arrived a bit early. He was very friendly and helpful right from the start. He asked what things we wanted to see and do on our excursion. We had an idea of what we wanted to do, but asked for his advice. He was very helpful and honest about our options. We chose to visit some Mayan sites, some beaches and to snorkle for a short time. We (4 of us) got into a nice jeep with Jerry driving. I was concerned with this initially because I was led to believe that we would have our own jeep. I also thought that we might be crowded. I am so happy that it ended up being this way. Being in the same vehicle with Jerry and getting to listen to his wealth of knowledge was awesome. We would have missed out on so much had we been in a different vehicle. Jerry took us to some amazing Mayan sites. The best part about these sites was Jerry's passion, excitement and knowledge. He shared tons of details, personal experiences and facts about everything that we saw. Jerry explained Mayan culture and how the impact of that Culture is still visible in Cozumel and other areas of Mexico to this day. We spent hours visiting different sites hearing the details and history of these sites and the associated culture of the Mayan people. This was the highlight of the excursion. We also visited the highest point on Cozumel with great views, had a delicious lunch and did some snorkeling near the resort where we had lunch. This was an amazing 5.5 hours and was worth every penny. On the excursion were my wife and I (Late 50's) and my daughter and son in law (mid 20's) We were all equally impressed with Jerry and the excursion as a whole. We would do it again in a heart beat. If you do this excursion, which we highly recommend, ask for Jerry!!!

Awesome day - To be clear this is a private trip that will include a driver for you and your booked guest only. I booked for myself and 2 kids, so 4 of us total in a jeep. It is what you make of it. The ocean was a bit rough so we didn’t snorkel and Julio was amazing and made the trip customizable. We asked to stop and get some fruit from the street vendors and so he did. I recommend looking up a few places close to your port that you would like to see. Overall the trip was great. Julio was knowledgeable and the food was delicious.

A great day on Cozumel with Julio - We had great fun on our day trip to Cozumel with our guide Julio Cesar. We met Julio near the ferry and he asked how we'd like to spend the day. We said we birdwatch, enjoy hiking and are looking forward to snorkeling. Julio planned the day around that. We hopped in his jeep and went to Buena Vista ranch and from there he took us on a hike to see some Maya ruins, several caves and to some good birding spots. He was knowledgeable and patient and always answered all our questions. After the hike we had a drive by the ocean, then lunch near the snorkel shop. We snorkeled for an hour and saw many wonderful fish. I was worried we might be overrun by cruise ship day-trippers but we were not. The were only a few others in the water with us. We were dropped off back at the ferry. Julio also offered some good recommendations for dinner on Cozumel. We ate overlooking the sunset then caught the ferry back to the mainland.

Great Experience! - This was a great experience. Our guide was Jonathan, and he was wonderful, engaging, and knowledgeable. We were able to customize our experiences, and chose the Mayan Ruins, ATV through the jungle, and Jade caverns. These excursions did cost extra. The lunch was nothing to write home about, but it wasn’t horrible. As other reviewers have said, make sure to bring plenty of cash.

We had a lot of fun... - We had a lot of fun tequila tasting at a local farm. Unfortunately we could not snorkel due to strong water current.

Huge Disappointment - Pick up time was 9am and at 10:30 we were able to have a security guard assist us in finding our tour company. Company was finally contacted ( no numbers on the app were being answered) tour company was able to send a employee of another company at 11:30 to lead us (3 couples) to our jeeps. We had 3 reservations and were supposed to have 3 vehicles and tour the island. We were given 2 jeeps and one was driven by the tour operator. We were supposed to have water and beer provided. We had none. After an hour drive to the gulf side of the island (which is stunning) we stopped for a photo opp and swim if we wanted. We really just wanted something to drink (we had been waiting since 9am and it's now 12:30 and we were extremely thirsty and hungry) we asked to be driven to our food spot which was another 30 min drive. Our guide (from another company) tried his best to deal with 6 grumpy hot adults. After a good lunch and drinks we were feeling better and went and snorkled and did a tequila tasting. We were done so we drove back to the meeting spot. We appreciated the young guide doing his best to salvage a situation not of his doing. What we do not appreciate is XERO apology from the original tour company and nothing from Viator. 2 1/2 hours shorted, nothing to drink (it was hot) and paid for 3 vehicles and got 2.

I selected hotel pick-up... - I selected hotel pick-up and I had to get there by myself the nect morning when I got a call. Also I asked for french speeking guide and didnt had. Once I got the Cozumel, I waited 45 minutes to get pick-up in a rundown Jeep. If I had known, I would have cancelled it. The guide was nice and wanted to please us.
