  • Upon disembarking from the train you will be welcomed by your local guide who will guide you through Europe’s most captivating city. Over the span of a 2.5 hour walk, your guide will reveal the exuberance of Florence with its rich history, architectural marvels, and effervescent culture.

Your local guide will navigate you through renowned landmarks like Florence Duomo, Brunelleschi’s unmatched Dome, and the Baptistery of St. John, renowned for its celebrated ‘Gates of Paradise’. Tour the vineyards and learn about the time-honored winemaking customs that have survived the test of time and are incorporated into the contemporary production of highly esteemed wines. Familiarize yourself with wine terminology like what the initials DOCG stand for and qualifications for a wine to be termed ‘Super-Tuscan’, while listening to the winemaker’s inspiring tale during a guided tasting of six wines, including the famed Vernaccia di San Gimignano and, naturally, a Chianti.

Every wine will come with a pairing of local charcuterie, cheeses, breads and, certainly, extra virgin olive oil produced on the premises. The wine and food pairing session will conclude with a first course.

Amazing day in Tuscany! - Antonio was the best!!! He was so knowledgeable about local history. He provided great detail on each historical site that you felt like you were there at that point in time. The highlight of our day was the family winery that we went to. They were so welcoming and made you feel like part of their family. Wine was amazing as well as the lunch that was prepared for us. High speed train was fun for us too since first time on this type of transportation. Highly recommend and you will not regret booking this activity!

Best of Florence & Tuscany Day Trip by High Speed Train - Amazing experience! Jessica met us in Florence upon disembarking from the train. She gave a very knowledgeable walking tour introduction to Florence. There is so much history to this vibrant city and Jessica shared key highlights that intersected art, architecture, history. Jessica then guided us to the pickup location where our group boarded transportation outside of Florence into the Chianti region. The lush green of the region was truly amazing. We were welcomed to a winery where one of the owners gave a small walking tour of his vineyard and spoke about the history of their farm, vineyard, their wine process, and welcomed us into a beautiful space for wine tasting. Each guest enjoyed a delicious plate of cheeses and cured meats while Andreas spoke about each wine. A delicious pasta dish was also prepared, along with dessert. What an intimate and amazing experience! Jessica then guided us in the same transport to a town where we were able to go for a brief walk through the town whose architecture and beautiful brick walkways have been preserved and reflect Tuscan charm. We then took the same huge van back to Florence where Jessica made sure we were on the correct track and train back to Rome. What a fantastic day trip and introduction to this region! Very thankful to Jessica for her care, attention to detail, and sharing all her knowledge; it was truly a beautiful experience!

So much fun! - This was such a fun tour! The it was very clear where to meet and our licensed guide, Antonio, easily found me and my mom. We ventured through Florence with our group and Antonio told us all about the treasures we were seeing. The second part of the tour- going to San Gimignano was definitely my favorite to get out of the busy city and see the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The winery visit and lunch was a lot of fun, and I got to meet their donkey Alfredo.

Give Yourself an Unforgettable Experience - My tour went way beyond my expectations, from the initial organization, tour aspects and locations, small group experience, support, communications and the professional level of all staff I came into contact with. Italia Tours is an exceptional. The experience was a wonderful blend of high speed rail (fun and a real time saver), walking at a most comfortable pace with time to savor each location, and transport by state of the art Mercedes Sprinter Van, with our excellent and most skilled driver Andrea. Our tour guide Antonio was professional, personable, highly knowledgeable sharing his wealth of knowledge presented in an informative and entertaining manner. Always at ease and assured, open to any and all questions. A nice group cohesiveness was fostered, yet allowing for personable independence. The wine tasting experience and tour of the winery was flat out amazing. A small family business chosen for its stunning location, commitment to quality, and educational process about it’s operation. The wine tasting experience and accompanying 3 courses of most delicious food was truly exceptional. The attention to detail and pacing made it a unique event. It was so much fun and enjoyed by all. This tour was the highlight of my experience in Italy. I would not hesitate to book any future tours with Italia Tours. A marvelous experience and one of great value.
