Highlights
  • San Carlos de Bariloche - After hotel pickup, travel by air-conditioned coach for about an hour east of Bariloche and head to Puesto La Fragua de Estancia San Ramon (San Ramón Ranch).

One of the oldest working ranches in the area, San Ramón Ranch spans 62,000 acres (25,000 hectares) into the foothills of the Argentine Andes.

  • La Fragua de estancia San Ramon - Follow your guide to an old countryside school converted to the ranch’s eating area. Inside the former school, ranch staff welcome you with a light breakfast.

Next, you’ll learn some horseback riding techniques from your expert guide who leads the way on a 2-hour journey into the Andes foothills. This riding is for begginers and experts.

Pass a picturesque lake and ride through transition forests before reaching the Patagonian steppe. Keep your eyes peeled for autochthonous animals.

After your ride, return to the ranch and dig into a 3-course lunch (a first course, a main course and a dessert) featuring Argentine asado. The feast of traditional barbecued meats comes with an open bar of wine, soft drinks and mineral water.

Finishing this, enjoy transport back to your Bariloche hotel.
If you select the afternoon tour, you will start off with lunch, then the horseback ride, and end with snacks.

Amazing views, safe fun riding, great food. - This was really great, guides and staff were awesome, horses were beautiful and incredibly tame (not a rider, but they were so sweet and calm I felt like a cowboy) and the food&wine were out of this world!

Horses, wine and steak - Everyone were inexperienced riders, but managed to enjoy the nearly 2hr ride herded along by two gauchos. Beautiful countryside! The asado was delicious and fun, fueled by steak and wine the diverse group managed to come together to sing a rousing Happy Birthday to a young Chilean participant.

Good ranch food and horseback ride - This is a good tour. They pick you up and return you from Bariloche. It’s a bit of a drive to the ranch. We were greeted in the morning with coffee and pastries in a beautiful wood lodge with a fireplace roaring. There is a long talk about the animals that live in the area. I would’ve liked to have heard more about the horses that we were about to ride. The horses were strong, healthy and easy to ride. We walked mostly with only a small amount of trotting. After the ride, there is a big lunch served in the lodge which is wonderful. Be prepared for wind, as it can be quite strong in this area.
