Fantastic trip to Mount Sinai by Suntours - I would like to start by saying the whole trip was organized perfectly. From the communication via what’s app after booking through pickup spot on time - ( we were actually late due to the fact we are getting used to “ Egyptian” time(s) - through transport in a comfortable coach with reclining chairs and enough legroom to accommodate a fairly tall European person (1.90m). We arrived at the foot of Mount Sinai around 01:30 am after having had a few bus-stops along the way. During The hike to the top of Mount Sinai we were accompanied by a very nice and acknowledgable guide called Mahmoud who kept a close eye on our group and managed to get everybody to the top in a safe manner. The hike itself was more strenuous than expected. My girlfriend and myself are fit and active people who workout at least 4 times a week (running/biking, boxing, going to the gym) yet we had to pace ourselves multiple times along the route. In contrary of what we had thought, the approx 6 km hike to where the 750 stairs to the top begin, wasn’t as easy as we expected. Perhaps it was the heat, lack of sleep or the fact we enjoyed a quite laid-back holiday so far, but it was a strenuous 3 hour walk to say the least. Expect poor visibility at night, lots of people taking the same path and camels surpassing you all the time. If you are careful and watch where you place your feet at all time (especially during the last part where you climb the 750 steps to the top) it’s all relatively safe.. but one mis-step could be fatal under these conditions in the middle of the night , where fatigue and the height might play a role in making you more unstable as you might wish for. All that put aside, there’s a couple of stops along the way, to rest, have some food, a coffee or tea. Blankets can be rented at the top to keep you warm or to lay down onto and rest a bit whilst watching the magnificent sunrise on top of Mount Sinai. Around 7am we headed back to the monastery of Saint Catherine where we arrived at 08.45 am. The resulting tour of the monastery and its grounds was a good one but due to the fact we were tired and needed a bit of rest, we weren’t able to take it all in. The experience was enchanted by meeting a Greek-Orthodox priest who lives in the monastery and is present in the church on thursdays as we found out. My girlfriend is Greek and the encounter with the Priest was a beautiful one for the three of us. At around 10:00 am we departed for Sharm el Sheikh to arrive back at our hotel at around 1:30 pm. Altogether this was an amazing experience which we would certainly recommend everyone to do so. Organization by sun tours was great and the communication with its owner ( Mohamed) was very pleasant and correct! Two thumbs up! I think the price of 40$US is more than fair. Be sure to bring extra cash though as you might want to bring souvenirs or give some to the locals 🙏

Sunrise tour - Good well organised trip, long coach ride but once you get climbing you're off at a good pace. Great guides, amazing sunrise, well worth the effort.

Once in a lifetime experience, a must do! - As soon as we booked our holiday to Egypt, we knew that climbing Mount Siani was something that we really wanted to tick off our bucket list and I'm so glad we did. Communication via WhatsApp 24hrs prior to pick up with pick up time being efficient on the day. We travelled around 3 hours via an air conditoned mini bus to the mountain itself, stopping multiple times for toilet breaks, opportunity to buy food/drinks from local shops as well as waiting for police convoy/escort to the mountain. Upon arrival we were provided with a flash light (it wasn't the best so if you have one, take one with you) and our group was assigned a bedouin guide who took us up the mountain. I'd like to say I'm quite a fit, healthy young individual but even I found this walk tough at times so be prepared it is not for the faint hearted. We stopped multiple times during the climb, again allowing the opportunity for toilet breaks, food + drinks (take toilet roll with you as it is unlikely there will be any in the toilets!). Once we reached the top of the mountain, we had some time to rest prior to walking up the final steps to the summit to watch the sunrise which was absolutely breathtaking!! You have plenty of time to take pictures but it is amazing how quickly the sun rises and the temperature begins to increase so pack suncream and maybe even a change of clothes for the descent. Overall this trip was great value for money & well worth the muscle ache the day after. Be prepared, it is a long day - get plenty of rest before hand as we got picked up at 21:25pm and arrived back at our hotel at 13:00pm the following day.

Beautiful but not for everyone - The tour is well organized but this is not for everybody. It's very long (they picked us up at the hotel at 7:20pm and we returned at 2:00pm the other day). The mountain hiking starts at around 1:00am. It's a long drive until you get there. It's physically very demanding; the hiking is intense and in the dark. When you get at the top, you stay some 30 minutes than you start all the journey back. The place is beautiful but it's a little sad to see the poverty, lack of infrastructure, and desperate men/children trying to sell you camel rides and stones.

Tough, but worth it. - The guides were very nice, but I wish we would´ve had more information about the buildings at the top of the mountain. Also, this is an extremely difficult hike.

A great trip with some noticeable drawbacks - The overall experience was great...but not everything was perfect. The climb was not that hard for us, however I would not advise the trip to people with young kids or who are not at least averagely fit. I would be satisfied with the experience, if only the description of the tour wasn't a straight up lie. The group was not max 15 people - it was around 3x of this size. I expected a semi-private trip and ended up in a crowd. Another important thing - flashlights were in fact not provided and many people had to hike in the darkness, which was truly dangerous. All in all - a good trip in reasonable price with some minor but noticeable drawbacks.

I felt like VIP - I took many activities with sun tours Egypt. The price doesn’t really matter when the service its good! Its make everythings easier than try to find always the cheapest way! Obviously there are always little things that can be improved but the personal are so nice try there best to give you a good experience you almost forget all this little things. We did the super safari with buggy, We did the diving, and we climb the mount Sinai. If you accept the fact they work at the «Egyptian Time» everythings gonna be all right!! 😂😂 Really Thank you for everything and i will definitely recommend your agency around me!!

A wonderful place with Egyptian people. - It took very little time up there, could stay at least an hour, ridiculous the time up there. I could have made fewer turns, all to get people tired and get them to pay for camel riding.

Exhausting but a good experience afterwards - To be quite honest it was such a hard climb that it was difficult to appreciate the experience before you came down again. Today I am happy I did it, but in the moment it was awful - and we are two young, fit people, so it is not because we are in bad shape or anything. But a nice, holy experience after all.
