Highlights
  • 36FV+85 Fern Tree - Your tour starts at our office in South Hobart. Here you’ll receive a tour briefing, plus a helmet and gloves. At the office, you’ll also be introduced to your bike and familiarised with brakes and gears. \n\nThen, you’ll board our minibus and be shuttled to the summit of Mt. Wellington. The first ride is a descent on the asphalt road from the summit. Our minibus will follow the group down the road, providing support if required. If you prefer not to ride the road descent, you can opt to come down in our support vehicle. \n\nAfter the road descent, you’ll take a 15-minute bus journey to the next ride. The second trail is off-road, and gently descends through temperate rainforest. The off-road trail is pretty smooth, wide, has a gentle gradient, and is easy to ride. The surface is mostly compacted dirt, with some looser gravel sections. \n\nBoth rides just require good basic bike handling skills. It’s downhill all the way, so only a basic fitness level is required. \n\nIf the summit is closed due to bad weather, instead, we do a longer ride on the off-road rainforest trail. This ensures you still have a thrilling ride and experience the mountain’s stunning nature.

Wonderful fun - This was a highlight of my time in Hobart.Phil and Ritchie are both lovely guys and very professional. The bikes are of a very high quality. We were giving a safety briefing at the start,as well as gloves.(these were a godsend as it was a chilly morning)We were then driven up to summit of Mt Wellington.Had time for a quick look around before we all rode approximately halfway down the mountain. This was exhilarating, the views incredible. We had a quick break where we we able to enjoy a hot chocolate from the cute little coffee van. After that our bikes were taken to a different location. We then got to ride through lovely rainforest and countryside. We even saw a waterfall. We finished up back at the office. Was approximately 4 hours from start to finish.Very enjoyable half day.Felt very safe and looked after.Highly reccomend.Suitable for all ages and riding abilities. Thanks for a great morning.

Great views of Mt Wellington and an fun bike trip down - We are 60 and 59 and wanted to go to the top of Mt. Wellington. This trip drives you to the top for spectacular views with plenty of time for photos. It is then time to basically coast down the roads and paths on the bikes. Phil and Zoe do an excellent job watching out for everyone, including those people who do not do a lot of biking. There are plenty of stops with some other interesting things to see and, of course, you have someone to explain everything to you. The bikes and other equipment were excellent. Everyone on our trip really enjoyed it.

Mount Wellington - real beauty masked - Excellent way to see Mount Wellington We say the beautiful forests and behind thr scenes history of the area and our guide gave us great commentary on local history and goings on as well as guidance on how to do the trails in safety and comfort. Chilly morning start and we were slightly under wrapped but thanks to the team we were well protected by the spare jackets provided. Hot chocolate stop half way down was highly recommended and we had lots of time to chat and enjoy the many natural and historical features along the way. Would definately do another tour with these lovely friendly guidefolk 😀👍

All the challenge of downhill on road and gravel, with great bikes plus scenery stops. Recommend! - Reliable and informed guide Rich, who looked after us with bikes, helmets, gloves and an extra layer of warmth at the top - big temperature difference between the top and the bottom of the mountain on the day we did the ride. Carefully explained the route for hazards and provided anecdotes along the way. If you can ride a bike you can do this - it’s mostly downhill ! Was great fun!
