Highlights
  • Jordan Wine Estate - Embark on an unforgettable tour to Cape town’s wine country region. Depending on your pick up location in relation to Stellenbosch town, this epic journey will most likely begin with a visit to the over 300 year old Jordan Wine estate. Graced by modern buildings, Jordan wine estate creates a bold fusion of old and new. The fermented barrels were made according to the Classic burgundy methods and separate barrel cellars are designed for Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz were the wine matures and undergo malolactic fermentation in Bordeaux shaped barrels.
  • Stellenbosch - Before venturing into the second wine experience venue, an exploration of the historic town of Stellenbosch will be on the cards. Best explored on foot, the quaint and compressed town of Stellenbosch gives one a nostalgic sense of a bygone era. Endemic Cape Dutch style buildings flows parallel to the leafy streets and over a 150 year old water furrows. Old and new shops trade in art, antiques, jewelry and carved wood.
  • Lanzerac Wine Estate - After the quick exploration of Stellenbosch town, the next stop will be at Lanzerac wine estate. Built on a 200 hectares farm, the estate is a mixture of a wine cellar, body spa, fine restaurant, farm shop and a splendid hotel. Lanzerac wine estate were also the first farm to bottle Pinotage, a South African wine made from the only South African grape variety and do continue to make award winning wines. Guest will have the pleasure to taste a set of wine from the farm’s tier of 3 different ranges.
  • Delaire Graff Estate - From Lanzerac, the journey will go via the hilly and winding Helshoogte pass to the jewel of the winelands, Delaire graff wine estate. A gem of an estate sitting on the eastern slops of the Boatmansekop mountain and facing the rugged Drakensberg mountains. Unlike the nostalgic Lanzerac wine estate of the 1690s,Delaire graff combines modern buildings and stunning contemporary art pieces hanging on the walls. A jewelry shop within the the estate rubs shoulders with world class Delaire graff restaurant and the Asian cuisine Indoschine restaurant. Here guest will be treated with an hour and a half to have lunch at own expense before the journey takes a turn for another different experience.
  • Franschhoek - After lunch, the journey will take us via the historic town of Pniel to the one street town of Franschhoek. A great many farmers hailing from France in the 1680s were granted land here to grow vineyards and thus the town became known as Franschhoek and meaning the French’s corner. Surrounded by mountains and manicured vineyards on all sides, Franschhoek gives one a beautiful co-relation of nature and man’s work. The beautifully done Leeu estate consisting of art galleries, hotel and restaurants leaves one with a silent cry of wanting to stay here for much longer. Should guest be willing to jump off the vehicle and explore the shops, this town would not disappoint. Same as in Stellenbosch, here one may find art stores, jewelry stores, fine leather stores, clothing stores or even fine chocolate factories!
  • Mont Rochelle - The last wine experience venue before heading back to Cape town would be at the Richard Branson owned Mont Rochelle estate. Cultivating in various varieties from red to whites, an excellent range to choose from will be offered.
  • Groot Drakenstein Prison - This is were Nelson Mandela made his famous long walk to freedom for the last time when he was released from prison on the 11th of February 1990 after 27 years of imprisonment. You will have an opportunity to stop by and take pictures with the lifetime sized bronze statue of this great man with his fist clenched into the air.

Wine tram tour - Driver Dansen/Danny made it the best experience possible - Danny/Dansen was our amazing tour guide. The trip its self was amazing and a beautiful experience. Me and my husband were celebrating my 30th birthday on a wine tasting/wine tours and what a way to spend it. Having Danny as our guide just topped off the experience and made the day so worth while, nothing was too much for Danny and any questions we had for him were never unanswered. Honestly i couldn’t recommend this company enough. If you book and are lucky enough to have Danny as your guide then you are in for a treat. Never met someone soo friendly, helpful and kind, an absolute pleasure to have spent our tour and my birthday with him, The best birthday yet. Thank you Kerri & Zak 13.05.24

A must do! - The tour. The views. The wines. The experience. All 10 out of 10. This trip would not have been the same without our guide, Danny! He was charismatic, informative, incredible friendly, helpful, and flexible with timing. Picked us up right on time out front of our hotel and we headed out. We even got very lucky with only one other couple in our group so it was a very small group setting. Danny gave us history insights along the way as well and many recommendations throughout the day. I would recommend doing the tour without tasting fees including as you’ll be able to pay at each winery and you can choose the tasting you would prefer instead. All in all an amazing trip and one I would highly recommend!

Best tour guide Rodney - My family were over visiting me in Cape Town and wanted to experience the real wine tour experience. We booked with cape archive tours and the service of booking and arranging transport was faultless! Our driver arrived on time for the tour in a lovely bus. Our tour guide Rodney was amazing. The whole way to the wine lands he told us history and facts about the city. He took us to different vineyards and we never felt rushed. We had the best day and Rodney made us laugh throughout it all and made sure to take plenty pictures of us!! Only 2 weeks later I done the same tour with my friends because I loved it so much and requested Rodney for the second time! As I had only done the same tour a couple weeks ago he made sure to switch up the vineyards to give me a different experience ! We also had a great time and met some lovely people!

Epic - Rodney our guide was an absolute hero, way above par. Great local knowledge, even way outside of the wine region. The tour was well organised and we learnt and drank allot. Rodney couldn’t have done more to improve the day!!!

Beautiful winelands - Avril was our guide for this tour. We were picked up from the port after a cruise and taken to two beautiful wineries and at our request, one craft beer brewery which we really enjoyed. We also had time in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek which are lovely towns as well as other places along the way. Avril was a great guide, easily understood and the vehicle was very clean and comfortable.

Wine not try it with the chocolate! - This was a lovely experience. Thank you to our tour guide Peter who really took the time to look after us and make sure we were well taken care of at each stop. My only advice is make sure you have a big breakfast in the morning and pack snacks, the restaurants are a little slow at getting food out and it wasn't possible to order a meal especially if you want to enjoy the full benefit of each wine stop! Lanzerac was a favourite and we would definitely recommend the chocolate pairing option!

Beautiful scenery and outstanding wine experience. - Our guide Anthea was exceptional - flexible with the itinerary but able to also suggest the best locations to visit. Plenty of time to walk the streets of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek as well as enjoy excellent and stunning wineries. The scenery in this area is truly beautiful. Lovely vehicle was provided and Anthea’s knowledge and friendliness capped off a wonderful tour. I would highly recommend this trip.
