Inspirational. - Our visit to Shakespeares schoolroom was really good, better than I expected. All the staff were interesting . The best part was the teacher . He was inspirational. I wish schools and teachers were like that today.

Fun, educational, interactive - This was the most fun activity we did in Stratford. It was interactive, covered multiple periods of history, and included hands-on exhibits. The guides (including an actor who was quite good!) were all extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help us all learn at our own pace. It wasn’t available the last time my husband and I visited Stratford, and we are so happy we found it this time. We would definitely recommend it for all age groups.

Essential Background to Shakespeare - The highlight of the visit is the performance of the Schoolmaster acting as a contemporary to young William. The other guides are helpful and friendly providind a different insight to Shakespeare's education. If you are interested in how Shakespeare gained some of his knowledgwe and experience this should not be missed.

Great for all ages! - I visited with my grandson age seven. We found the experience informative and fun. Our guide and the school teachers gave great insight into the life and times of Shakespeare. All team members were really engaging. My grandson enjoyed the activity sheet that is provided. Once again this combined knowledge with fun. The search for the mini Shakespeares was a paritcular favourite. This is a great place to visit for all ages!

Fantastic experience and very educational - Wow, that was fun! It's much more interesting here than Shakespeare's birthplace, especially because the rooms are still used as a school! The staff, some of whom take on roles (e.g. Shakespeare's teacher Master Jenkins) are fantastic and you really learn a lot (e.g. that six classes were taught at the same time and were seated on benches sorted by age). There are also recently uncovered Christian wall carvings on the ground floor! You should definitely go!!

An informative and enjoyable tour - We toured the old guildhall and the schoolroom where Shakespeare was taught. The guides were excellent and told us about the history of the guildhall and school. In the schoolroom a teacher in authentic costume explained about education in the late 1500's and we had a chance to try writing with a quill pen. It was very well organised and very enjoyable. Strongly recommended

Good tour - For a small venue the tour was very good and informative. We enjoyed it but felt a little rushed out of the school room after we got to use a quill

Just ok - Historic place, but not really a whole lot going on. Yes, it’s still a functioning school so that kind of limits it somewhat, but there’s still room for a few more exhibits or information or something. The “lesson” was good, but that’s about all there is to the place, other than saying you saw a place where Shakespeare went to school.
