Excellent day out! - Lovely tour - Panos was friendly and informative and he took us to a variety of local and traditional places to try food and drink, starting with coffee, moving through markets, delis, speciality shops and ending with more substantial tastings at a cafe/bistro. The group was small - only 5 of us on the tour I took - which meant we were able to all chat and interact rather than just following.
The cheese especially is amazing. Highly recommended for travellers to Thessaloniki, to get an overview of the city centre plus some delicious history.

Best Food Tour in Thessaloniki! Must do!! - This is a authentic food experience in Thessaloniki with a local, who was once a chef and shared all their favourite local food, coffee & wine spots in Thessaloniki, away from tourist traps.
Panos was very hospitable, knowledgeable about history, food and culture of city. Best food tourbin Thessaloniki and highly recommended.

Do not hesitate to book ! Wonderful experience - Do not hesitate to book your tour, chef Panos has a wonderfull knowledge about Greek cuisine and specialities (we visited so many places where locals are meeting, not tourists) but bring also a lot on Thessaloniki culture and historical background ! Highly recommended !

Great experience - More than a food tour! We also got a tour of the Agia Sofia church and a monastery. Panas was very knowledgeable about traditional food and local history. We tasted a nice variety of foods and were given recommendations for other places to try on our trip. Highly recommend this tour!

Wow, wow wow! You will not be disappointed! - Such an incredible food tour with Panos - he’s so knowledgable about food and the history. This is a tour not to miss! It’s so interesting, fun and trust me you need to turn up hungry! Sampling so many Greek local products, in cafes and delis, meeting local owners passionate about their food and drink, whilst walking around the city. It’s just brilliant - do not hesitate to book this tour!

Thessaloniki city break recommendation - Gastroroutes is the former e.g. A gastro and history walk led by Panagiotis "Panos" Karafoulidis, master chef at Kempinski Berlin and teacher at the Thessaloniki restaurant school, usually for a maximum of 6 people, there were only two of us. An unhurried walk, during which there was plenty of time to exchange opinions, not only about food and different food cultures, but about Finland and Greece in general. And of course to taste different dishes and finally have lunch. By contacting gastroroutes.com directly, you avoid the brokerage fee of GetYourGuide and Viator. It was so nice that almost nothing was filmed :D

Great tasting of Thessaloniki food - Panos was full of information about Thessaloniki. The foods that we had I thoroughly enjoyed. Please do not eat breakfast as there is so much to eat!!
