Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park - Depart from Accra early in the morning to reach Ghana’s Central Region. Our first stop will be Assin Manso, the resting place of two former slaves from the USA and Jamaica, whose remains were reburied in August 1998 during Ghana’s inaugural Emancipation Day Celebration. Visiting “the Slave River” or “Donkor Nsuo” provides an opportunity to see where captured Africans were bathed before being held in the Slave Castles, awaiting transport to the Americas and the Caribbean. This site is known for their ‘’Last Bath.’’
-
Cape Coast Castle - Cape Coast Castle was one of the slave castles constructed along Ghana’s coast and also served as the British administrative center in West Africa. Visitors will explore the museum and dungeons where slaves were held before being shipped to the New World.
-
